User Select screen up all the times on Win XP!!!

Hi folks!

Ever since I downloaded and installed the Mircosoft .NET update for my Win XP, I get the "Choose User..." screen every time I boot the computer and/or reboot it. Before installing the .NET update, Win XP would boot directly into the Desktop.

I only have one user which is the Administrator.

Any ideas how to make Win XP go directly to the Desktop without asking me which user I want to log as??

Edit: Ignore my advice. I was ignorant of the fact that .NET stuff installs an additional user, since I use the traditional CTRL+ALT+DEL login screen in XP. Ergo, listen to the people who posted after me; they know what they're talking about, and their solution will work.

installing the .net update adds a "hidden" user, i beleive it is called asp machine user. If you remove that user in control panel/ user accounts, you will go right in to your sole user like you did before...

You can check that whether you're the admin account or not...as long as you're a member of the admin group.

However, that's not the issue. The latest .Net updates actually create a "asp.net" user account, which is supposed to be used for writing and debugging of .net programs. Obviously most people don't need that, so it shouldn't be done automatically, but who expects anything else from MS?

Go into the user accounts and delete the asp.net user and the Welcome screen will be skipped again (assuming you only have one user set up and no password).

Thanks for your ideas. I deleted the ASP.NET user and everything works fine now.....
