Recently I purchased Seagate FreeAgent Desk External Drive (500 GB).
This week I found out that D-Link has a Firmware upgrade to certain Routers (mine's a DIR-655) that allows any computers on you network to share the USB Port on the Router.
D-Link calls it:
"SharePort Network USB". Hookup is very straightforward. With the hard drive it will only allow one computer to access the HD at a time, but it eliminates plugging and unplugging from each computer. More info here:

Only thing need is the free firmware for the router and a free small applet loaded on each computer. It is available for any of these routers:
DIR-628, DIR-655, DIR-825, DIR-855, DGL-4500
Now my USB Hard Drive is a Network Drive!
