Using dell to recover drive data?

Sis has a dell laptop that the HD died in. Dell says they will recover her data for $250.00 Anyone with experience using them? Her fear is that once it's in their hands and, if they can't recover, then they will toss it.

too cheap. that's software recovery. real recovery will be in the thousands of $$$$.

Photos my sister took. For some reason she refuses to back up anything and has had the worst luck with drives/laptops. Maybe she needs a couple more whacks to the head before she wakes up.

Np, also.. it may turn out to be an easy recovery. My company has a pretty wide range of pricing depending on the level of failure.


If it turns out to be a "logical" issue you are usually looking at around the same pricing dell was going to charge, the difference is that IF it needs to be escalated to something higher, we arn't just going to give up and throw out your data.


If I diagnose it, and it turns out to be a mechanical issue, or something serious; you will get a quote, and if you decide it's too expensive, thats fine. We ship it back and you don't owe anything!
