Using your keyboard to boot your computer: HOW TO?

Is there a way to set up a computer so it can turn itself on by pressing a specific combination of keys rather than using the the power button?

I have seen that before on eMachines, but I am not sure how to set that up (if its possible) with the current computer I have.

Any ideas? thanks.

There is a setting in some BIOSses in which you can set the computer to toggle on by mouse click or keyboard input. Just load your bios and check the basic settings menu and it might be there, usually in the same menu that specifies the 'key repeat rate'
and 'display post screen' I believe.

Thanks a lot.

Associated with windows standby feature, it really makes a breeze starting up windows.

mine does that (ASUS A7N8X-X) i had to change a small jumper and then change a setting in the power management section of the BIOS. any button will turn on the computer. very convenient.
