The government pays for the war. What this goes for is paying for care packages. To just send someone over seas and to "forget" them is the worse thing you can do to someone. And this is a way we can show that we haven't forgoten them. And it also shows them how much we appriciate what they are doing for us. And you.

Sorry if i sounded rude (by some of the negative responses). I'm just saying it should be the government's responsibility to take care of the soldiers since they made the decision to send them out there. It should be apart of the "war financing". Doesn't that make sense?

I'm not saying it's a bad idea for anyone to send money for care packages, but it's just a simple question i'm wondering.

I think it might be nice if you can request that some of your money be spent to send them cameras. This way, we get to see later some of the cool things they took pictures of.

I just looked at the care packages list and they do have disposable cameras included.

Considering that the war is going to cost us many billions of dollars, I think that I'll give my $1 to one of the many poor people in our country that truely do need assistance.

Dan, I just sent email to the Mods asking the following:

As you know the DC community has raised over $1,100 to support our troops. Thank you very much for the "sticky" thread as it made a big difference! We are going for Phase II of the project and have nearly $100 since yesterday. Would it be appropriate to start a challenge between the DC and OT forums to see can raise the most money? It would require a thread in the OT Forum issuing the challenge. They can have their own folks collecting funds or, I would be willing to run it along with this one. If I ran both then contributors would need to specify to which fund they were sending money.

Anyone up for the challenge?

CRAP! I already donated to the DC fellas! Not that I don't like them, but I only post in HD and OT.. Add my $10 to our total, and remove it from the DC total!

hevnsnt, No problem. I'll make a note of it.

If anyone else who contributed since 3/31 (Phase II), wants to specify DC vs. OT, then let me know.

I already donated with DC though I don't really post there. Unfortunately my money got counted with DC instead of OT.

Can you move $20 more from DC to OT? That's how much I gave.

No, no, no....not a problem! All you need to do is send me email from the email account which you used for PayPal letting me where you want your contribution posted: ATOT vs. ATDC!

Guess it would help to state that the race only applies to Phase II which started Sunday night. If you email me and I applied your money to the first phase then I'll let you know.

I will post the daily totals in 1 hour.
