Been awhile since I read about it, but recall the CO getting skewered by the War Department immediately after but I get fuzzy after that. There was some campaigning to have the record revised but those results I don't recall off hand.

Woot, memory still good. Supporters managed to have the conviction in effect stayed at the time and decades later it was formally purged.

I rented it on Amazon tonight, wow, what a shit movie. The writing and acting sucked and the CGI was comparable to pick any 80's movie.

It sucked so bad I didn't even finish watching it and I consider myself a WWII history buff..

I agree, some of the scenes involving sharks were almost like something you would see in jaws or sharknado.

Considering that they couldn't be bothered to make a CGI ship model that was even remotely accurate, I don't have very high hopes.
