Keep in mind that this demo was released with low-res graphics to keep the size down according to the developers. The final will be gorgeous.. no comparison as far as visuals go.

My GeForce GTS seems to run it fine,
I haven't tried anything higher than 1024x768 yet though.

i played it a good bit today, i have an athlon xp 1500+ with gf 2mx and it's running around 35fps average at 800 x 600.

pretty fun so far, I can't wait for the final. I like the addition of "Wicked Sick!" after Godlike. Still working on getting a M-M-M-Monster Kill!!!

I used to not be a fan of WWII games till I played BF1942. All I can say is "wow" to that game. It's like you're IN the war. As for UT2003, I had only minor slowdown in the first minute of playing a map in the last Beta of the full game, with graphics set to high quality 1024x768x32. I have a GF4 Ti4200 128MB at 300 Core 560 Mem, on an XP 1800+ with 256MB DDR. I think having 128MB of Vid Card RAM makes a HUGE difference.

Those of you with video issues: Use the whql 30.82 drivers or similar. There are issues with the 40's that will soon be resolved by Nvidea.

Don't foget to set the d3d refresh from 60hz to what ever your PC uses at the res you use in the Ut2003 ini file in the D3D section too.

It's true the the game will have better Textures than the demo. The unofficial demo had huge textures compared to the official demo.

Yeah the beta is the best-looking game I have EVER seen. The textures and structures are absolutely unbelievable. There is simply NO way they could fit the regular textures into a 100MB demo download. The beta I have is over 1.2 GB just for the install files!

Former BB Employee Nick? Lemme guess, you were too smart for there and had to leave? I applied there once years ago, for their PC dept, and they turned me down because I didn't have enough SALES experience! I still laugh when I go in there and the PC guy is telling a customer with a DVD Recording drive that he can buy any media, including either DVD-R or DVD+R and DVD-RW or DVD+RW and DVD-RAM and it will burn in his drive!

Hehehe. I wanted to yell at the employee right in front of the customer but I didn't think it would do any good. Best Buy Computer Department employees are like mom's. They're always right. No offense Nick! You are a former BB employee so you don't apply to that logic!

preludeca, I went from a severely overclocked GTS-V to a haven't-even-attempted-to-overclock-yet MSI 4200 and your framerates should nearly double. Q3 went from 100ish FPS, to 200FSP. I haven't tried UT2003 yet but I had a beta and I went from 45FPS to 75FPS <- I could be making these numbers up but it was close to that level of improvement I think. I have an XP1600@1743

Does that means it's a good thing? So, let me ask you then - what's the point of playing the newer game? Pretty visuals? Apparently the gameplay hasn't changed since the 90's.

I suppose when Doom 3 comes out we'll be able to observe those good ol' fashioned flame wars? "d00/\/\ 3 0wnz ut crap" "yo yo, UT is SOOOO much better than that doom shyat, wtf is with that game ne way?"

Well, contrary to popular opinion I thought this game was great. Its more of the same great UT action, with better graphics. I really like the new weapons and sound effects for the most part. It would be nice to have a little more variety however, and the maps feel small.

Good news: it runs fine with settings on high at 1024x768 on my athlon xp 1700+ 384mb ram ATI RADEON 64MB DDR Vivo (Thats an original radeon folks) so I wouldnt be too scared for those of you that dont have a geforce 3 +

not necesarrily, but its not a bad thing really either... if you like shooters, than new graphics and textures should make a new shooter fun, if you dont like shooters, you dont like shooters and that's fine, but a shooter = shoot, run, shoot, run, shoot, run shoot(do some lame and thing like drop ammo in wolfenstein) shoot, run

The thing that sold me on UT over quake was it's attitude... I really liked the kind of raw industrial feel. Its a purely aesthetic preference and I was never into flame wars over which was better, It doesnt matter to me if someone wants to feel l33t because they think they are some extra sweet quake hax0r code kiddy and UT sux... they can think it sux all they want, I still prefered it over quake 3.

I hope that doom3 brings back a good shooter SINGLE player experience..I really like multplayer, however I miss the great imersion that goes along with singleplayer or co-op

I played all modes, ctf, bomb run (lame as hell), deathmatch and 3 or 4 hours later I'm done with it pretty much. Doesn't matter with new improved maps or community maps. Only hope for UT2003 IMHO is awesome mods for it. Yea I'll play it every now and then (demo that is). No need to spend money. Extremely impressed with the visuals. Deathmatch map where the water reflects the bushes and trees is breathtaking. I'll stick with RTCW and go searching for a good deal $30 (I hope) for BattleField 1942. I have to buy two copies (one for me and one for my 4 yr old). Even he likes rtcw and bf1942 better than ut2003. Wow some things are way over hyped. Can't wait for Enemy Territory.

What is a 4 year old doing playing RTCW or BF1942? Easy way of baby sitting... mhhh yeah maybe.
Good way to teach your child what it should learn at 4... I think not!

cruise over sometime and watch him play grand theft auto 3. He gets pissed when "my girl won't get in the car with me". If he only know...but no worries he doesn't. My wife just started teaching him how to read his numbers. I told him if he learned he'd know when to tap out or wait for a medic, when he'd spawn, etc. So learning abc's, 123's does help after all. He just turned 4 a month ago..so give him a break. He's not a team killer like the 12 yr olds out there. He's a teamplayer.

Bombing Run is freaking awesome. If you're sick of deathmatch and ctf, I highly recommend giving bombing run a try if you haven't.

I didn't play the original Unreal tournament, so you may still be bored with this game, but I think it's a blast.
