I'm Mister_Coffee (surprise) Just changed names for the heck of it. Yeah Tetsuo316, those were some fast and vigorous games After about four games with just the two of us, it seemed like the bots definitely kicked up a couple notches on their skill level, did it not?

Next translocator tip for translocator trainees: instead of trying over and over again to get the Translocator to come to rest exactly where you want it, fire it OVER the target and alt-fire when it's above what you want to land on. For instance, if you want to land on the generator so you can go over and get the shield, fire the translocator in an arc over the generator, then alt-fire when it's somewhere in the right area to drop you on top.

Aye! And another method, if the server didn't allow Translocators, is an Impact-Hammer Jump. Now it would be a Shield-Gun jump, since the IH is now called a Shield Gun. In this approach, you get out the shield gun and hold down the fire button, then look straight down and release the fire button as you jump (the timing takes some practice). If you do this while running towards the pipes that the shield is sitting on, you will usually land on one of them and can double-jump to the top one to get the shield.

You take a bit of damage when you do this type of jump.

If you get 100 Adrenaline and hear the announcer say "ADRENALINE!!!" then hit your "run backwards" key very rapidly in succession until you get "BOOSTER!!!" from the announcer. Now you will be surrounded by a cloud of green +'s and your health will climb, then your shields, until your Adrenaline runs out. Nice! You can prolong the effect by grabbing more adrenaline capsules.

Yep...worked like a charm last night!

I'm still too slow at finding the keys and changing things...and my side mouse buttons don't work (won't let me map them in...maybe a driver problem).

Something is up with Insightbb tonight....I was playing Tuetso316 and everytime I fired, it would appear about 3 to 4 seconds later. Easy kill for everyone!

That would explain it. It was so jerky, I would be firing at someone, then get thrown back a few frames, sometimes I would fire and nothing would happen, then I'd get fragged. First game I played was ok, but the second was so jerky it was making me dizzy. Then I got thrown out of the game. *sigh*

Probably High pings because everyone's home playing UT2003.

You should probably turn auto-adjust back to off. When Mech and I play, the bots ratchet up to a point where they're having to more or less cheat with aim, and wiping out anyone else that can't keep up with them.

No, as I've been playing with the sound turned all the way down. No audio clues at all, just visual.

no, but i can hear people running and firing in any room even if the room i'm in is empty. i always hear that and whirl around thinking someone will be there only to see an empty room. i have it on software 3d sound. whenever i choose eax or whatever all the sound cuts out.

i have to agree with Virge.

overall, i thought it was a lot of fun. i saw some people i hadn't played against before (Player and CKG both come to mind) and had fun playing against mister_coffee (mechBgon) and Engineer.

hey Ray, you're old, right? i mean you have that cane and everything, right? can you lend Engineer a hearing aid or something? mech and I were having trouble communicating with Engineer during the game. j/k Engineer. i'm just glad i was finally able to get you to listen to me.

i have to warn you all now though: engineer knows of some good sniping spots now, so look out.

I've seen a similar thing Virge, with the bots auto-adjusting skill,

after I've been playing, the bots can be seen sitting around drinking tea in smoking jackets, dropping their weapons, blowing themselves up with the rocket launcher, and taking 15 attempts to get the shield with the translocator.

ROFL!

I wish I had a hardware-3D-sound audio card that gave more directionality to sounds such as weapons and footsteps. I guess it's the same as not having a fancy-pants top-end video card... I don't know what I'm missing. Just pokin' along with AC97 audio and an old GeForce2 GTS-V...

Just had a go on your server at 6pm GMT muttley. It wasnt bad!!

Whats the difference between EST and GMT? 5 hours isnt it? (What time should I come on?)

eastern time is -5 GMT
pacific time is what? -8 and somebody wanted people to come on at that time of 6pm.

The server is on 24-7 also a few people come and play at lunch time.
I have the computer turned sideways and whan the light is flashing I know somebody is on and will sometimes join. Like some people we have wifes and kids and oters that we have to play taxi for or something so its been hit and miss at times sometimes only 3 players at max with a rare 4 but there is as you can see 6 bots set so whan you join its you and 5 bots to work against I can turn up the skill on the bots but most everyone has said the level of 1 above normal makes for a decent game.
