Visiontek GF3 (original @220/520)
Det 40.41
Run with P4 system at 2.4, RDRAM at 480

1024x768
D3D
Flyby 109.2
Botmatch 58.7

Will turn the system up to 2.667 and report back to see if it makes a difference. My guess is no as the GF3 has reached it's limit.

Will do Open_GL later...

Bartman - nice OC on that GF3. I have the same card. Is yours still with stock cooling? Any probems at that speed? I never tried higher than 225/525, maybe I'll try to push it to your level.

anybody notice that the players in UT2k3 look like Buzz Lightyear? (from toy story)

Yeah, they do seem a bit overly armored. The bots in Unreal were pretty skinny, UT looked normal, and UT2003, oversized. UT2003 has a very Q3TA look and feel to it IMO.

BTW, did you try out [ H ] OCP's UT2003 benchmark? They tweaked the .ini files to not compensate for different card types. Its is a more apples to apples test. The only thing is they built the files so they only work if UT2003 is installed in the default c:\UT2003demo directory (mine isn't). I guess I can edit all the files to fix that or just edit the regular ini files to reflect the changes that were made.

to infinity! ~ and beyond!

UT2k3 would be better if it was antigrav ships fighting and not mechppl.

I tweaked the files to reflect my UT2K3 directory, and the benches work fine.

There is a lot of bench info to post though. You run 3 batch files one at a time to run through all the tests. One batch is High quality, one medium, one low. Each of those run 3 different flyby maps at 3 different resolutions, 1600 x 1200, 1280 x 1024, 1024 x 768. The whole thing will produce 27 sets of scores. Be sure to use the install.bat for each of the 3 quality level before you run the flyby.bat

I'm just posting the High quality results:

Compared with the other results mine seem very odd. Maybe someone can explain this to me. BTW, haven't used the generic UT2003.ini. Will try this later on.

Here we go (all at 1024x768):
D3D:
Flyby: 44.940525
Botmatch: 32.768734

OpenGL:
Flyby: 44.940220
Botmatch: 32.769997

My system is:
P4 1.6A@2.14
512MB Samsung PC2700 at 354MHz, 2-3-2-6
GeForce3 Ti200@ 220/500 with Detonators 40.72 (the Ti200 goes even higher - 225/520 at least)

And strangely - D3D & OpenGL results are almost similar...

Have to play with this ini file...

I retested my system under Win98SE and suddenly:

Flyby: 111.x
Botmatch: 55.x

(writing the results out of my head...)

Much better then the results I got under WinXP Pro SP1 (see my post before)... I used the same 40.72 drivers, with the difference that the Ti200 was clocked at 225/500 (220/500 under XP). As I have no fallbacks under XP while playing other games, and even my 3DMark scores are higher under XP - compared 9215 to 9045 I really don't understand this...

Anybody having any clue?

Update - got same good results (Flyby around 110 and Bothmatch around 55) under WinXP when going over to 30.82 Detonators. So it's probably a driver issue.

I guess the 30.82 drivers will stay there till a new WHQL certified driver comes out...
