They just changed this now as earlier today the $20 gift voucher said that it was for B&M purchases only.

I've already preordered this a few weeks back. Should I just cancel and reorder to qualify for the Feb 27-April 5 purchase date?

Technically, you did already buy it since it was a "pre-order." I did 3 pre-orders for different items and my credit card was already charged at ebgames.com. Cancel and re-order if you want the $20GC.

I'm not going to bother since I used trade-in bounty codes for the pre-order anyways (and paid the small balances via credit card). My net cost for UT2004 SE is only $7.xx after the $10 UT2003 MIR, since that's my cost for the $40 in codes I used to buy it. And in a similar way, Doom3 cost me $26.

Just called EBGames and spoke with Leon (?). He said that the $20 online coupon is still applicable to orders placed before 2/27 - just print it out.

I spoke to Alex(?) this morning and he also said it was valid on all preorders and that they do not exclude customers that preorder early.

Well that's crap. In the other thread, they had a deal where you got it for free if you had ut2k3. There was no mention about the Atari rebate requiring proof of ownership of UT2k3.

I have pre ordered also two weeks ago. Is the day you are billed or the day you pre ordered count for this offer? Their is no purchase until a product is provided. Thats why they can not bill your credit card until shipment of the game.

EB won't bill you until it ships as long as it's an online pre-order. A B&M pre-order will have some sort of charge(either the manditory pre-order partial charge, or the full game charge).

The other thread mentions the mfr rebate, and I believe if you read the whole thing it does say that this rebate if for UT2003 owneres, since the question is raised as to whether you can do both it and the EB game game trade in.

Ok, the deal in my store is just like the one shown in this thread. The game can be "free" if you have UT2k3 and trade it into EB w/1 other game. The rebate from Atari makes no mention of having to own UT2k3. The $20 from EB says REBATE on the poster, not gift voucher, though the sales clerk seems to think it is a voucher and not cash. If I had my camera I would have taken a pic.

yea, if it EVER comes out... i cant even run that sucker.. radeon 7000 is WAYYYY too obsolete.. still decent for CS tho.

The official word from the Atari forum is that you need proof of ownership of UT2K3 to get the $10 rebate in the box. At least one form of proof is the first page of the manual.
The thread you pointed to also says that you need to own UT2K3 to get the rebate.

There's no mention of it on the EB poster in the store. Furthermore, how would you get the game for "free" (according to the poster) if you have to trade ut2k3 into EB w/another game to get $10 off. This deal is starting to stink, and it stems from EB doing a bait and switch.
