Its because its a beta demo, they're hoping to iron out the bugs in the game before its final release, the same thing happened with UT2003, everyone downloaded the beta of that one & complained about this & that & they tried to do their best to resolve most of the problems with the game before releasing the full retail version, probably the best thing to do is e-mail them with the problems your having & see if they give a response or most likely go to their forums site & make postings their, as many of their people surf the forums & pop in from time to time to help out & get info on what needs to be fixed. I too was a bit disappointed at the demo, well actually i haven't even gotten it to run smoothly yet, right now I'm temporarily using a 19" Flat screen TV for my monitor, & had the res set at 640x480 @ 32bit & still couldn't read the damned text of the menus & stuff so I didn't even know what I was selecting (except the main title screen menu's), & when i did try to start a instant action game it just took for ever to load, so i switched to software renderer, BAD IDEA, I have never played an Unreal game (Unreal, UT, Unreal 2, UT2003, I have all them), this slow, could barely select the menu options without lag, so unless the make a patch for the demo, I'll just wait another month or so for the full retail version, I can get by with playing UT2003 or Unreal 2 online for now.

Just one question, I'm trying to figure out why the hell all the game mags reviews & articles keep mentioning that UT2004 will introduce vehicles to the game, which isn't exactly true, as UT2003 also had at least one experimental vehicle the Bulldog (it was a hidden level/map you had to unlock in the UT2003 directory, you had to change a certain files extension ( the files name is VehicleDemo, change the name to something like DM-VehicleDemo.ut2, & it should be available in the Deathmatch map lists, when you play the game) to one of the UT map extensions & copy it into the maps folder, then it was selectable in the game though it didn't really have true bot support, it was playable, & I don't remember if it (the Bulldog) had a weapon at all, but you could drive it around & run down guys with it.
