Finally managed to get a screenshot of a stunt grading. This was after I plowed in the side of a hill and did a barrel roll. And yes, I had cheats running. I was messing with the vehicles to try out stunts.

For anyone wondering, 1280x960 32bit everything set to medium. Running on a Inspiron 8200 with Mobility Radeon 9000, 1.7ghz P4-M, 512MB PC2100 DDR. Only time there's slowdown is if there's a huge energy weapon fight.

Anybody have this problem????

I can play instant action all I want and no problems, but when I connect to a game over the net ir will freeze up after about 5 minutes? hard freeze with juts a locked screen and sound?

No atrifacts, no bad sounds, juts a hard freeze out of no where.

Just a Warning to anyone who downloaded from the Fragland.net Mirrors, it appears that the mirrors are sending virused files. Norton Internet Security on my brothers computer blocked the Sokets de Trois v1. Trojan from the site on the start of the download of the exe file. Be careful out there!

NM, this is probably a false alarm, aparently WinXP will sometimes set off NIS with this virus when it attempts to access some port.

Man wtf, the screen shots I take come out all dark :| But it looks fine during gameplay.

Do you have a firewall running? If it is, disable it, or make a rule to let UT2004 through.

I have a Router/Switch between the computer and cablemodem. I also have the Basic XP Pro firewall on but that is all.

I've never been able to get on any online games.. server list never shows up. They say it might be due to some NAT routers.

I have no software firewall installed and I put my computer in the DMZ on my router and still no luck.

Well, I've made up my mind. I didn't really like UT2003 but 2004 feels like the great days of the old UT, plus some. I'm VERY glad they brought back the sniper rifle!

The vehicles are great. Very good physics, very intuitive and simple controls. Lots of great gags too. I got run over by one of the hovercraft things with the two propellers once and it showed my head get lopped off and shoot like 100 feet in the air, then my body slowly fell to its knees and then fell over. The physics suck, the weapons still suck, and the fruity pebble colors don't do it for me. Back to Desert Combat 0.7 for me.

You just probby got wtfpwned a lot. This game is amazing. Ut2k3 was damn good (though I missed domination - but I absolutely loved bombing run) and UT was awesome. Sorry, but the UT series are just plain fun. You're just crapping cause' you're mad the populations in your crappy games are down...

The whole point of UT is that it's fast.. but for you that complain the speed is too fast, play on a server with a .90 multiplier. I personally love the fast speed... With speeds like that, I can frag 1000 people an hour and take out more aggression in less time. It's just plain more efficient.

(1) Where did I ever say anything about speed?
(2) I'm actually quite good at UT. I played the original for hours on end, but UT2003 and now UT2004 suck donkey balls.
(3) I haven't played Tribes or Tribes 2 in years
(4) I still play BF1942 and Desert Combat b/c the games are fun, the gameplay is there, the weapons are both realistic and well balanced and it is just downright fun.

1. I just assumed you didn't like the speed cause' others complained.. But, you did complain about the physics.
2. UT was good. UT2k3 is good and UT2k4 is good. Your opinion is wrong.
3. They both suck.. didn't miss much.. Although, I hear a lot of people like Tribes 2 because when you fire your gun, it goes off like 2 seconds later.
4. Ahh.. so this is the real matter. You want realistic games. That's where we're the exact opposite. If I wanted realism, I would go do the laundry. When I play a video game, I want crazy exciting fake. FAKE EVERYTHING. I want it to be fast and crazy. I don't want to go through a stupid mission breifing or some realistic crap for 10 minutes just so I can shoot one guy once. I wanna go nuts. I want my racing games to be stupidly fast (like San Francisco Rush 2049). I want my fps games to be crazy exciting (UT, UT2k3, UT2k4). Battlefield 1942 is too slow. Desert combat? haven't played it yet. But, you spend 5 minutes playint UT2k4 (not even enough time to figure things out) and you crap all over it? That's unfair. If you don't like the game, say it's because it's not real enough for you. The gamers that like the crazy unrealistic physics like me will be positively informed.
