UT3 Officially sucks

Well, its been almost a year since my last post.
Was I right? Did nobody give a fuck about the graphics after a year? Did the gameplay hold up or improve over a year? Or is it a distant memory for some folks?

Out of curiosity, what is the name of your clan? You wouldn't happen to be a member of Death Warrant would you?



UT99 had the best capture-the-flag game play and it had far, far higher player counts at any given year after it's release than UT 2004 did as well as much more clan activity. Capture-the-flag was the main game in UT99 and people still play it to this day. DOMination also used to be great fun and there were clans for it. There's a reason why people are still playing CTF in UT99 but UT 2004 CTF is dead.

I like UT 2004, too, and think it's a great game, but for Onslaught and Invasion-RPG. Overall I think the UT99 feel and game play is better than UT 2004's.



Oh yeah. Many of the UT99 CTF pros liked the UT3 Demo and then completely lost interest when they discovered that the UT3 retail release was almost the same as the Beta Demo as far as the user interface and server browser were concerned (a huge joke; an abortion).

nah, downward spiral {DS} downwardspiral.org. we cant compete in UT2004 as in the ladders dont have any activity. we all do our own things until like 8pm then play some UT.
in theory TAM is just DM without weapon/health pick-ups.

I enjoyed UT3... However, I played UT99 almost religiously for a few months, but I only felt the urge to play UT3 online less than 10 times.

Could be that I'm 30 now and was in my early 20s then, but there's something I can't put my finger on. Maybe UT3 is just the right game at the wrong time.
