V5 question

Hello everybody, first post in here.

Well since I've got some problems with a 2mx I just bought I thought that I could get a V55OO instead (provided it can fit in my case ).
However my computer pretends it can only feed 110W, I found it hard to believe but it's what's written. Isn't it a bit too low to feed a V55OO? (here's my system now: P3-600, 20g hard drive DMA33, DVD player, and a LAN card)

Would it be possible that it's already what's causing problems with my Mx?(it would be strange but it doesn't hurt to ask opinions)

My reaction exactly, I never found something under 200W and even that is uncommon. So I guess I must make a mistake somewhere (it's a siemens computer, Xpert 7 serie with and AX-63 AOpen with VIA appolo pro chipset).

He's probably right. The place where i work just gave us all new HP Pavilions. when i looked at the power supply i laughed as its only 100 watts. Yes 100 watt power supply.I just got this thing last week.It was free though.

GET a new PSU, nuff said.
100W, damn thats almost too little to feed the case leds

Well it has built in video i815. My buddy i work with has the same system and he has already put a voodoo 3000 pci in it another 64 megs og ram and a cdrw. Works fine still. If you dont have alot of stuff you will be ok.I see peaple on the 3dfx board with 125 power supplies that have 5500's and 2 cd roms and 2 hd's.

The V5 can be unstable if it gets less than 12v from the PS.

I would wager a guess that your PS probably is involved in the GC problems your having. The AGP port really wasn't designed to supply the kind of power most cards nowadays require; add in the complication of a 110W PS and ouch!

I hate to sound like a broken record for those who read my other posts but you should buy a new case my friend. Any case that came with a 110W PS can't be too good...did they glue sheets of aluminum foil together to make the chasis?

Get a ANTEC SX830 case w/ a 300W PS for $80 shipped from onvia.com; your power problems, if any, will be a thing of the past.
