From my personal experiences, I totally agree with the statement. Now that I think about it, I only see females in the new model Mustangs. I think the same applies to the VW Jetta... Both are very "powerful" cars in their own ways, but I just don't get it.

They should make cute looking, crappy performing cars for females and "testosterone-influenced" design cars w/ enough horses to brag your ass off for males.

what motor puts out 300hp and 500 ft/lbs of torque? a diesel?

A balance is what you want. a nice WS6 camaro has plenty of power stock, and more than what most girls know how to handle

stangs are pretty uncomfortable, i drove one right before testing a jetta and the jetta is like 10x more comfortable. And just as fast as the v6 mustang. The jetta does cost quite a bit more..

i spose its okay for girls to get convertible v6 mustangs, but the coupes are just plain ugly in v6 flavor/rims/etc.
and slow.

I do believe that Mustangs were marketed to be a car for women back when they first made them... so all Mustangs technically are "chicks cars"

There's also too damn many of them that's why I bought a 3000GT for christmas instead of a mustang

I am a "chick" who would not own a sports car that has a v6. Give me power. Don't think I can handle it. Guess again. Sitting behind the wheel of a Corvette is a major turn on. So, no not all girls are into those whimpy v6 sport cars. If I am going to be seen in a sports car I want it to actually be a fast sports car. I enjoy pulling up next to you cocky guys at the light and blowing your doors off when it turns green.

I have to agree with Nitatoe the Mustang is one of the wimpiest Muscle cars around, so trying to put down the v6 just because you have a v8 isn't saying much.

Ford 429 with a few tweaks. Plus that extra weight comes in handy when you go flying off the road when it makes any deviation from a straight line......lol

<< cause any man will have a car with balls. about 300hp and 300ft/lbs of torque, is a manly car.

anything with less than 170hp certainly is a girly car.
>>

Right. Are you saying the Lotus Elise is not enough of a manly car? 122BHP, if I recall correctly. 0-60 5.6 seconds. The Mazda Miata sports less than 200HP(155). The new MR2 doesn't have 200HP(138). All of these cars, save the Miata, will take on a 4.9, 5.0L Mustang. Let's not forget about the windshieldless Renault Sport Spyder. All of these car's are true driver's car, reknowned for superb steering feedback, well tuned suspensions(suspension first, engine last) and the fact that they're just plain fun to drive.

What's even worse, is that econoboxes like the Volkswagen GTI(well...not so econo anymore) and VW Corrado VR6(again...maybe not econo...but it's a "stupid" Volkswagen) will keep up with and often beat stock GT Mustangs.

I was checking out the new 2001 Mustang GT convertible. I took one for a weekend and did not like it. The reasons:

1) I'm 6'2" 225lbs and felt squeezed in the car. This car was not designed for someone of my size.

2) Too much plastic

3) Too much squeak

4) The visibility was terrible. The door and windshield pillars got in the way. The amount of space you could see out the rear window was minimal.

Sorry, I'll purchace the Trans Am or BMW instead of this cheap hot rodders car.

Gotta disagree there Supergroove... A 138 HP Lotus Elise (what the hellis that you mean ELAN aka lemon ?? Mazda Miata ?? Volkswagon GTI ??? I could start in second gear and still take those cars... Yes, I do agree the miata, MR2, both handle well, and are really fun to drive, but none of these cars will come close to 5.4 sec 0-60 like my Mustang !!! NOT EVEN CLOSE....

Turdorf, I'm 6'2 255, and my 99GT fits me just fine.. Don't know if the convertible is smaller, or pillars may be bigger I suppose... Hope the extra legroom is worth the five grand for the TA over the Mustang...And if you buy a convertible, there are inevitably going to be squeaks and rattles...guaranteed...
