You mean the 1% they dish out for purchases? Whoopdeedoo. Pay $100, get $1 in ValueDollars.

Now if you changed your title to "Get $1 in ValueDollars for every $100 you spend!", I bet a lot less people would read the post.

I know it's nothing, but it shows VA.com has no system. Just in case you find a good deal there, you still can get 1% and with 3% rebates from ebate, and bizrate, still not that bad (if you get a good price on va.com).

It kicks butt if you are in charge of replenishing the office supply.
Thousands and thousands of dollar in purchases, but you keep the value dollar.

S,
Yah, a lot of AnandTechers discovered that over the past year with all the screwups they've had. 1% is barely anything, unless you're like JumpJoe! $10,000 will get you a decent $100 to use.

What I don't understand is how Value America plans to stay in
business. Every time I am ready to purchase a computer peripheral,
I go there first (because I have a lot of Value Dollars I still
need to use). But without fail I find: 1) That the products
they are offering are out of date by 3-6 months (either not offering
the latest stuff, or else the prices they list are the initial
prices not adjusted for subsequent manufacturer price cuts); 2)
That a HIGH fraction of products in any catagory are either permanently
"out of stock" or else permanently on "back order"; 3) That when
they do happen to have something I want, the price is so high
(relative to places like Onvia) that even with Value Dollars it isn't
that great a deal...

I just don't get it. They claim margins are improving and they're
generating decent sales. How? Who would buy anything there without
Value Dollars?

Me too, I have some value dollars and don't know how to spend it, the last time I tried to go through CitiPlaza.com (to get free shipment with va.com) and they screwed me up. They showed the price after applying valuedollars, and when I clicked submit, it charged me the orininal amount

I called back and forth and no help with their sucked system (customer service).

Anyway, I think they tell ppl that they have profit, either it's true, or just to keep stock price good. But they have several stores with Citibank (two that I know).

kwad guy, for your information, valueamerica now offers price matching.

However, anyone who uses a value dollar for a purchase is not allowed to pricematch; that is, price matching does not apply to purchases made with value dollars [it appears].

I see what you said about their prices; nevertheless, the price matching offer now helps if you like to endorse them.

I think their new avenue for attracting customers is through Value America mail-in rebates.

I guess that way they save more if customers fail to meet the criteria for a rebate, or if customers do not bother with the rebate hassle . . ..

1% of your total purchase is nothing. I thought they were dishing them out again like before.

An all time low of 75 cents per share of VA stock isn't what I call keeping their stock price good. From $50 to less than a dollar.

they are on their last grasp. There ordering system is still screwed up; thy cannot view an online order by order number until 24 hours after placed (they have to scroll through names); returns credit still take forever to process; their customer service AND order taking staff was not available July 2 through July 4th (they had some wierd call service takign numbers and promisign to call back); their free shipping citiplaza portal crashes on IE5.0 every time; I could go on. This is a company on its death throws. If you have Value Dollars use them NOW! (they expire in Sept anyway). I have $100 in VA rebates that I never expect to see except through some bankruptcy servicing agent.

I wonder if they will let me exchange my value cents for their stock.

Letsee, I could probably get 10 or more shares and pray for someone to wanna buy their domain name and add value to the company.

Boy am I glad I didn't buy their stock when they were around $5 a piece. Now I'm wondering if buycom will go the same way...

fof matching i got this:

Dear Mr. XX,

Thank you for your inquiry to Value America.

If value dollars are being used on a purchase, that makes you
ineligible for
the price matching. The price match policy on the website does state
that
it can only be print ads only. I apologize for the misunderstanding.

We appreciate your business and look forward to your next visit.

Sincerely,

Hi,

1- For price Guarantee, your web site didn't mention
if the other retailer can NOT be online store, is this
true?

2- If I use Valuedollar in my purchase, can I still
request price maching?

Best regards,
