Ain't nobody here going to change anything, this man represents the misery that we have grown to love and have made part of our main stream culture, with more coming.

"Nobody?s Listening"

Yo, peep the style and the kids checking for it
The number one question is how could you ignore it
We drop right back in the cut over basement tracks
With raps that got you backing this up like
Rewind that we're just rolling with the rhythm
Rise from the ashes of stylistic division
With these non-stop lyrics of life living
Not to be forgotten but still unforgiven
But in the meantime there are those who wanna talk this and that
So I suppose that it gets to a point where feelings gotta get hurt
And get dirty with the people spreading the dirt

it goes

[Chorus]
(Tried to give you warning but everyone ignores me)
Told you everything loud and clear
(But nobody?s listening)
(Called to you so clearly but you don?t want to hear me)
Told you everything loud and clear
(But nobody?s listening)

I got a heart full of pain, head full of stress
handfull of anger, held in my chest
And everything left?s a waste of time
I hate my rhymes, but hate everyone else?s more
I?m riding on the back of this pressure
Guessing that it?s better I can?t keep myself together
Because all of this stress gave me something to write on
The pain gave me something I could set my sights on
Never forget the blood sweat and tears
The uphill struggle over years the fear and
Trash talking and the people it was to
And the people that started it just like you

[Chorus]
(Tried to give you warning but everyone ignores me)
Told you everything loud and clear
(But nobody?s listening)
(Called to you so clearly but you don?t want to hear me)
Told you everything loud and clear
(But nobody?s listening)

I got a heart full of pain, head full of stress
handfull of anger, held in my chest
Uphill struggle
Blood sweat and tears
Nothing to gain
Everything to fear

Heart full of pain, head full of stress
handfull of anger, held in my chest
Uphill struggle
Blood sweat and tears
Nothing to gain
Everything to fear

Heart full of pain

[Chorus]
(Tried to give you warning but everyone ignores me)

LINKIN PARK

Then, of course, there are these more soulful lines from Linkin Park ("Big Pimpin' / Papercut"):

You know I - thug em, fvck em, love em, leave em
Cause I don't fvckin need em
Take em out the hood, keep em lookin good
But I don't fvckin feed em
First time they fuss I'm breezin
Talkin bout, "What's the reasons?"
I'm a pimp in every sense of the word, bitch
Better trust than believe em
In the cut where I keep em
til I need a nut, til I need to beat the guts
Then it's, beep beep and I'm pickin em up
Let em play with the dick in the truck
Many chicks wanna put Jigga fist in cuffs
Divorce him and split his bucks
Just because you got good head, I'ma break bread
so you can be livin it up? Sh!t I..
parts with nothin, y'all be frontin
Me give my heart to a woman?
Not for nothin, never happen
I'll be forever mackin
Heart cold as assassins, I got no passion
I got no patience
And I hate waitin..
Hoe get yo' ass in

What could have been done to prevent this? Perhaps nothing.

On the other hand, I do support better control of bullying. I was taught when I was young to respect other human beings and to treat them how I would want to be treated. I've never picked on anyone in my life, as far as I can remember. That is the responsibility of parents to teach. It's the responsibility of schools to try to pick up on and correct, but I am not going to blame the education system for this one. I am not excusing him of his actions by a long shot. At his age he's an adult, and should seek counselling himself if he feels that way, especially if teachers are recommending it.

Also, Palehorse, don't make bullshit assumptions like that. It is difficult to explain the reasons behind something like this. Your suggestion that his suicide was necessary is pretty disgusting.

He can't see more than he knows. You can't give people either vision or wisdom they have not earned. Palehorse is who he has to be. His self hate allows for no pity. Palehorse is brutal and unmerciful to the part of himself that is stupid and weak, the part of him that once was at one with the universe, the part of himself that loved and was spit on.

I pity the poor immigrant
Who wishes he would've stayed home,
Who uses all his power to do evil
But in the end is always left so alone.
That man whom with his fingers cheats
And who lies with ev'ry breath,
Who passionately hates his life
And likewise, fears his death.

I pity the poor immigrant
Whose strength is spent in vain,
Whose heaven is like Ironsides,
Whose tears are like rain,
Who eats but is not satisfied,
Who hears but does not see,
Who falls in love with wealth itself
And turns his back on me.

I pity the poor immigrant
Who tramples through the mud,
Who fills his mouth with laughing
And who builds his town with blood,
Whose visions in the final end
Must shatter like the glass.
I pity the poor immigrant
When his gladness comes to pass.

Just like in Paducah, Springfield, and Columbine, we have a situation where a mentally disturbed loner was picked on until he snapped. And yet, amidst all the knee-jerker cries for gun control, no one is arguing for an end to the bullying. WHY?

Are you looking for a "culture of death" in America? Find it here, in the horrible way in which we treat each other. In the way those who can't or won't conform to the group are ostracized and humiliated. How many more need to die before we learn to respect each other, even those who are different from the rest?

You can't teach love to a bully. The proper way to reduce bullying is to get rid of the bullies.

1. Dismantle the PTA. It's only purpose is for parents to have an advantage over other parents so their spoiled bully children get excused.
2. Start enforcing capital punishment against bullies. If someone is over the age of 14 and beating kids up, they are old enough to know what they are doing. Children don't have any fear of consequence these days; their parents don't care, the teachers usually don't and if they do care they can't do anything about it, and the victims can't just pull out a gun and shoot bullies without having their name plastered all over the media. Assault is assault, and should be dealt with. Preferably with an electric chair.

This is the repression demanded by self hate. I am filled with hate and I will kill if I am not made to be afraid. I demand a world of repression so my hate will be afraid to act. I demand you be suppressed too because I know what's inside of you. The slightest deviance form the norm and you must die. The weird must be killed. The whippings will not stop until moral has Improved.

This is the best commentary I've seen regarding the tragedy. I'm in 100% agreement. I think that those responsible for the endless bullying and torture bear at least partial blame for this.

I don't think it's too much to ask to treat other humans with respect and dignity. That would solve many of society's problems.

pardon me for not caring about this young douchebag's life. If you need to go throw up in a bucket after reading my blunt verbiage, then do so quietly and quit sharing your tears and fears with the rest of us.

Trying to assign blame on everyone else - from the teachers to the shrinks to the parents to the gun salesmen - is fvckin counterproductive and wrong.

This shooting was the gunman's fault, and I'm glad he's gone. period.

It has to be this simple. Otherwise everything I believe is wrong and if everything I believe is wrong than I am wrong and the worst person in the world, just like I feel. I demand, in the name of freedom from pain, that what I believe is true. Do not expect ME to remember how badly I was hurt. I must continue to project my self hate on the shooter. It's only fair. He not me is the douche bag. I conform perfectly and deserve a reward. I am an angry God. Hear me rage and feel my wrath and condemnation.

Yeap, no need to ponder the reason for the tragedy, no need to try and get to the root of the problem and solve it. Let's just sit there and blame all those cruel gun man, the two kids from Columbine and now Cho and many that will follow. Let's just lower the flag for a few days, show a little sympathy everytime stuff like this happens and go our merry way.

If you can see that he has to think the way he does to protect himself from pain, you can't blame him either. Humanity is asleep and no blame can be assigned. We do not know what we feel or why and so we have no idea why we do what we do.

Interesting.

I was bullied no end in school because, GASP, I was a highly intelligent, fat, cross eyed Hispanic girl! Ah, what surgery can do (I am still a girl, lol...)....

I haven't killed anyone, but I do take great pleasure in teaching 7 year olds about The Blind Men and The Elephant, The Ugly Duckling, and The Emperor's New Clothes. I also like pointing out to them the fact that every culture has a Cinderella myth (maybe they will see that there are similar religious myths, hah) and that there really is more the same about us than different.

Oh, and my students absolutely love me. Their parents love me, too. I love them back. Yay! I especially love the misfits, and when I can help them fit in a little better, 'cause we are really all misfits, it is a happy day.

Am I a dangerous socialist?

That is utter BS. The PTA is a good thing, and I was a PTA volunteer before I became a teacher. SOMEONE has to do the work, fundraising, etc. Where I teach, the PTA is everything. You want computers in your classroom? Let's hope your COMMUNITY is willing to raise the $$$.
