What you don't see is anyone stepping up saying he/she is/was a friend of Cho. It is highly likely that he didn't have any. He became so alienated that he felt there was no one to relate to. Psychiatrists, teachers, and parents quite simply cannot fill that void. Of course, because of his "weird" behavior who would want to be his friend? High school remains a battleground for popularity. By association alone can give you a bad rap. So there's the vicious cycle that keeps pushing him further and further into alienation. There's an expression that "misery loves company". I believe that is very true. This Cho kid didn't even have anyone for that. To keep his reality in check and a sympathetic ear to his suffering.
By no ways I'm excusing his behavior, but you have to admit there is a similar pattern for those who all of a sudden snap.
