Yeah though, in the one village I went to, can duoc, there were these huge things of rice paper. They were pretty salty and they weren't totally hard, so you could eat it without having to wet the rice paper. Good stuff. Can never find that stuff here :[

And what the hell man. I thought you went by chowfun or some crap. Did you know that NaOH is Richard To from our troop's buddy? Small world.

Crisp $100 bills, especially the new design ones are very desirable in VN. For example, if you have 5 bills of $20, you will get less in Dongs <local currency> than if you have 1 bill of $100.

Another thing, if you have $2 bills, bring some to VN and give them for tips or souvenirs, people would love that.

Edit: The malls are Diamond Plaza <green color nears the Catheral> and Hung Vuong Plaza. They are clean and nice and expensive as in the States.

As for traveling there, most of the cities that are famous you'll want to visit. TPHCM, Hue, Da Lat, Ha Noi, etc..

Bottled water only and no ice. Soda is ok for the most part to. The food is good, but as others have pointed out, SoCal offers better "local" dishes for the most part. Street food is good, but beware; your stomach might not agree with you.
