Mayte Lara Ibarra shot off the polarizing tweet last Friday after graduating from Crockett High School in Austin.

“Valedictorian, 4.5GPA, full tuition paid for at UT, 13 cords and medals, nice legs, oh and I’m undocumented,” she wrote.

The tweet included several graduation pictures and a few emojis: a medal, the Mexican flag, Hook ’em horns for the University of Texas, and a graduation cap. It swiftly went viral, receiving more than 400 retweets and nearly 20,000 likes before her account (@maytelara29) was deactivated.

Only in America, you broke the law to get here and then boast about it.

Think of all the good she could do for the country she still claims allegiance to. Get her out of here and if she wants back in, make her do it the right and legal way. And if her family doesn't want to be apart, we can pay for their plane ticket, too. Cheaper in the long run.

If someone doesn't think that she will be contributing to our nation in the future, that person is mistaken. I'd much rather 1000's of people like her poured into our country, and to make room, we packed up and shipped out the able-bodied people who have been abusing the social net for 10 or more years.

I live in the South, you know how many Confederate flags you see down here? At least with Mexican flags we're not talking about a group that committed treason against the US and caused the deaths of more Americans than any other point in history.
