HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, you literally had to make shit up to make it sound worse!

She's only boasting about her status because she's being demonized. I see lots of Unionjacks and Canadian flags and Italian flags and nobody gives a shit.

This. The fact that she became valedictorian of her HS only demonstrates the fact that we should want to keep her here and that the system for making that happen legally is beyond FUBAR.

I know some here want to rail against those that are not here legally, claiming she is AN ILLEGAL(all caps denoting a huge cup of RAAAAGE), but let's think about it for a moment. She was brought over here as a MINOR and had no control over her residence. If you can hold immigration status against someone who was a 6th or 7th grader at the time, I don't know what you tell you other than you have a serious lack of empathy.

She probably didn't have a choice in the matter. My half sisters, both older than I am, came to the USA from El Salvador and didn't even know they were illegal til much later. Their mom took them away from El Salvador because of the civil war in the 80s. She and her family are probably working on becoming legal, like my sisters and their mom and my dad and countless others I know, did. Desperate people do desperate (sometimes illegal) things, especially when they want to remain alive or provide their kids with a far better future.

I guess nobody in P&N cares about immigration laws and breaking them. Oh well. Shame. She should be deported. If she wants back she sounds like she is smart enough to figure out the legal paperwork involved.

Nothing wrong with being proud of your heritage. I have no problem with that. What I do not like are people wave foreign flags here, boast about their ILLEGAL status without any fear, and burn US flags (not in this story). You get my drift?

You might want to let the UN know of your concerns, as they have flags of the participating nations there...

Also again even citizens of the US occasional burn the US flag. Also strictly speaking the US Supreme Court has ruled on laws regarding the desecration of the US flag and has found them unconstitutional.

If the methods to become a US citizen hadn't change since when the the ancestors of most in the US came here many, perhaps even most, of the illegal immigrants would have been legal. The tightening of immigration, for those outside of Asia, only really started in the 1920's.

You know that countries compete to attract intelligent and accomplished people, right? Deporting someone like that would the most asinine thing you could imagine.

Come on dude, you know what I mean by waving foreign flags.

You know the old saying..something about you could do that..but does not mean you should. Just saying.

I have no problem with the girl in the story (as a person). The problem I have is how they boast about their ILLEGAL status while MILLION and MILLION of people who are waiting for years to get here the LEGAL way. That's my point.

I'm half Osage and I agree with him. Try going down to Mexico and trying this shit as an American.

Not just in Mexico but any sovereign nation on Earth. Try to do craps as ILLEGALS are doing here anywhere on Earth and see what will happen to you. I have been outside the US many times and I must follow those countries rules and laws when I was there or I would be in jail or expel. Period.

Keep on wishing because unlike her and MILLION and MILLION of ILLEGALS. I am LEGAL. And NOTHING you can do about it.

Oh, one more thing. I will NEVER wave or post a foreign flag like her and other ILLEGALS . That's how I roll.

If you want to keep ILLEGALS here so bad, the door to Mexico is that way ------>

Next!!!

Sure, but she's smarter than you with her 4.0 GPA and will contribute to society and pay taxes. You, on the other hand, are a complete loser and a drain on our system.

Only thing you got going for you is that you're "legal", otherwise you'd surely be deported. rofl

Yes, I am such a loser and a drain on our system. You know me soooo well.

You get all of those "facts" from where?

Oh no, I don't pay taxes. You got me red hand. You better call the IRS. ROTFLMFAO.

I don't care if other countries want her. They can have her if they don't care about their immigration laws. We have laws for a reason. If you are not going to uphold them you might as well get rid of them and make it a free for all. No laws apply to me.

This has nothing to do with race etc. Its all about upholding and honoring the laws of your country. Id be 100% fine if she earned her citizenship and came back. She sounds like she is a good smart girl.

Just because your smart shouldn't give you special privileges to break laws.

I would say that empathy is only one of many things Svnla lacks. Sanity certainly seems to be another one.

Yes, Dr. Phil wannabe. You know me sooo well, eh? So let me get this clear. Wanting everyone (regardless of race/nationality/etc.) to follow the law equally with no excuse = lack of empathy and sanity? Yes or No?

Still no reply to what I say about the two quotes from kirk and cool arrow in the OP?

Gotta love how you guys attack the messenger because you can not dispute the message. Spin baby spin.

Facts are facts.

Why not change the system then?

I have no problem with guest worker program and smart people can get here faster (case by case) and other sensible reforms but what we have here right now is one side wants ILLEGALS as a whole (amnesty) and one side wants to build a wall.

Trivial.

Do we now "create a firestorm" in the media over each and any illegal? Serves nothing BUT the purpose to stir angry emotions.

That being said, she is a total dummy. IMO you must be really dumb to "boast" that your tuition is "all paid for" and that you're illegal. Troubles believing she actually graduated with this lack of brain cells, really wondering whether this is some stunt...

Hmm.....

-Escaped abusive alcoholic father at age 11. Which begs, just how shitty does your situation have to be to want to uproot and leave everyone and everything you've ever known behind.....?
-Lived in poverty over here and shares the only bed with mom and sister for the past six years in some one bedroom shithole (sounds like the 'American Dream' to me).
-No Internet, watched baby sis while mom worked the night shift (making shit wages I'm sure)
-Yet has embraced America and somehow through all the trepidation and constant looking over her shoulder graduated top of her class and gets a full ride based on her ethics and merits (not her immigration status).
-Says she wants to do her part to "Make America Great Again".

You know what... good on her (or both of them from the linked videos for that matter)! She (they) worked their ASSES off to get those scholarships!

And then... on the polar opposite of the spectrum, we have you... who's only contribution to this country to be a natural born citizen (I'm assuming) and an Internet troll.. well LUCKY YOU!!

I sure hope you don't consider yourself a Christian, because God forbid you would share any of the breadcrumbs from your table... of course, these women would figure out a way to persevere without you I'm sure.

Let me paint you a pretty black and white picture.... If your problem is with 'Illegals'... then your problem is with the system and you should vote for change, because the 'Legal' system clearly doesn't work well enough or we wouldn't have a this problem to begin with. And if that's the case then you also understand that change takes time to implement and in the mean time amnesty IS the answer.

However, if you disagree with the above sentiment, then you're problem is NOT with a broken system designed to keep people out... it's with immigrants on the whole... You don't want anyone new treading on your pissing grounds... And if your problem is with immigrants than you're a bigot and a fool..

After all, it's the great minds of enterprising immigrants (such as these two glowing examples) that "Made America Great" to start with.

Of course it is a stunt. The problem is that you can't see her goal. It isn't to brag or boast, but to bring about social and legal change for others in her position. You can work hard and do everything right as a child and still have no control over your status and future in the country. Only by exposing the situation and making people confront that fact can you eventually change it. That being said, she WOULD be a fool not to try and legalize her status once she turned 18, if she hasn't already. That is, if she has the resources to do so, which many in her situation do not. Immigration fees/lawyers don't come cheap.

Yes, she IS hard-working and has (likely) achieved more than what many here on the forum ever achieved. This, as I understand was also her motivation to communicate this achievement.

YET, it doesn't change the meaning of "illegal", so by law she *could* be kicked out and likely will, seeing how many tipped on her and informed the INS. And "boasting" to be an illegal, in particular right now is just the most non-smart thing someone in her position should do.

So those people who feel that you can break the law as long as you are smart and hardworking should have no problems with doctors who speed like crazy and get let off, stock market traders who commit insider trading, a hard working police officer who prevent crimes and arrest criminals but crosses the line many times?

I can't decide if posting my opinion in this thread will result in me being labeled an SJW or a racist.

I seem to equally float between both labels according to the right-leaningSJW jihadis of AT, these days.

when i see this plate, it pisses me off. we are all americans and to have a license plate like this is just bull. not only that but the flags are crossed wrong. the American flag should be on the viewers left.
