Molybdenum Disulfide makes the toughest grease and gear lube!
Nah! Forget that moly stuff... greases and gear lubes are a totally different ballgame!
If I remember correctly, Mobil had some sort of synthetic EP they were using in their synthetic gear lubes, and decided to try it in their synthetic motor oil - and it worked better than their wildest dreams! It solved the blown cranks/rods for drag racers - and everyone else wanted it too, when they found out what Mobil was doing - so Mobil added it to their regular Mobil 1 synthetic motor oil.
Anyway, I skimmed through that article and the guy pretty much aced it.
For manual trannies (transaxles), I use Redline MTL or MT90, depending on the season - nothing beats it - dittos for their motor oil, but I can't afford using Redline motor oil! Gotta buy it at a local $peed $hop.
I use Mobil 1 - available at every store in America!
For mineral oil, IMHO, nothing works better than Chevron Delo 400 and Shell Rotella T - never tried Mobil Delvac 1300, and don't plan to...
So, he basically got it right!
I'm also a fan of Castrol GTX - an ancient (but time-proven) offshoot of Castrol GTR racing oil. Whatever! Nobody's perfect...
