In another thread we discussed the human need to dehumanize their enemies as it eases the psychological burden and guilt when it leads to war against the enemy. There are countless examples of this throughout history and beyond. No doubt the first human conflict witnessed both sides dehumanizing the other.
It's certainly not unique to the right or left or anywhere else on the political spectrum.
Didn't say it was. I'm near certain that you've got a nearly identical model on the worst examples of people who considered themselves communists, just that rather than the regressive left stifling free speech or feminazis meaning men "can’t get a girlfriend because the feminist movement has gotten to such proportions that it's impossible for a man to have a relationship" (Ha ha holy cow this is actually a quote from Blue Max's favorite political cartoonist Ben Garrison I can't even believe that dude), it's class enemies taking all the prosperity that results from the proletariat's labor.
However, the right's either intentionally or unintentionally incorporated the vast majority of that sort of thinker in the US. You don't really see a left mirror of the people who talk about "liberal tears" as if that makes a policy self-evidently a good idea, which we have a few of on these very forums.
And of course what I'm describing isn't the only thing that can lead someone to try and dehumanize their enemies.
