In another thread we discussed the human need to dehumanize their enemies as it eases the psychological burden and guilt when it leads to war against the enemy. There are countless examples of this throughout history and beyond. No doubt the first human conflict witnessed both sides dehumanizing the other.

It's certainly not unique to the right or left or anywhere else on the political spectrum.

Didn't say it was. I'm near certain that you've got a nearly identical model on the worst examples of people who considered themselves communists, just that rather than the regressive left stifling free speech or feminazis meaning men "can’t get a girlfriend because the feminist movement has gotten to such proportions that it's impossible for a man to have a relationship" (Ha ha holy cow this is actually a quote from Blue Max's favorite political cartoonist Ben Garrison I can't even believe that dude), it's class enemies taking all the prosperity that results from the proletariat's labor.

However, the right's either intentionally or unintentionally incorporated the vast majority of that sort of thinker in the US. You don't really see a left mirror of the people who talk about "liberal tears" as if that makes a policy self-evidently a good idea, which we have a few of on these very forums.

And of course what I'm describing isn't the only thing that can lead someone to try and dehumanize their enemies.

My reply wasn't intended to show any disagreement in what you said. I guess I'm more interested in seeing the common ground and psychological traps we often fall into no matter where we are on the political spectrum. I see the extremism increasingly manifested in violence as a symptom of the same disease regardless if its from the left or right. Those of us who fall in between those on the extreme left or right surely have more in common than the extremists right? The countless attempts of using the ballpark shooting to score political points or suggest it's indicative of all on the left or right is both incredibly disheartening and only serves to exacerbate the problem.

These fox news types claim to be fair and balanced for good reason, because people believe them.

Damn your douche baggery never fails to amaze or show any limits. You have no interest in genuine discourse, rather you're content to erroneously accuse so many of the same tired things.

You are once again so incredibly wrong yet have zero interest in even trying to self correct. The willful ignorance is amazing.

It's obvious enough that fox news & friends worship money and thus will say/do anything for a tax cut, which is why that's their solution to literally any problem, and why they're willing to align with anyone no matter how degenerate as long as they'll vote for one, too. Whereas in contrast the most genuine type of discourse reveals how that works instead of playing their little game.

As we still wait for his Mali "insta tweet"...but hey, I get it...feed the rage!
You know Trump gets his intel from cable news and right wing conspiracy sites. I listen to cable news and didn't hear about Mali. The Quebec attack against Muslims happened back in Jan and silence. Its been 2 days since the attack on Muslims on London and nothing.

Trump is good for a 24-36 hour tweet on attacks by Muslims esp in Europe. Once he hears about Mail that comment will happen before London.

I guess we can count that as an achievement in a Trump presidency. Going 48 hours without a batshit insane tweet.... a truly epic accomplishment. Well done Mr Trump, have yourself a lollipop....

It wasn't the conservatives who came us with the idea. ...or did the west "invent slavery" like the left also now claims?

The Washington Post is the biggest conspiracy theory outlet going right now.

I gotta admit, Taj, your tears are delicious. And somehow almost everything comes back to women with you. If I didn't know better I'd say you have some issues with us

Terrible statement, terrible that this is a crime.

"It's a shame they don't hire out steam rollers or tanks could have done a tidy job then."

Unfortunately, I'm torn between two different directions, with this issue.

On the one hand, FREEDOM OF SPEECH, is extremely important. E.g. Political leaders could use a lack of it, to remain in power even if many people hate them. I.e. a sort of dictatorship by indirect means. E.g. Look at Turkey at the moment, and what has been happening there in recent times.

But on the other, I can see that "Racial Hatred" messages, can cause deep hurt, and even fuel people (through mental illness, easily influenced, or extreme religion or whatever), to carry out acts of terrorism.

I'm not immediately sure what the answer is here. We seem to be having great divides in the West, between, different things, such as Trump in or out, Rich vs Poor, Racial differences, Religious vs other religions and atheists, etc etc.

My understanding is that it was major differences like this in the past, which caused things like the civil war of America, etc etc. Which I vaguely remember was over if Slavery (and other stuff) was the right or wrong way to do things, hence deep divisions, between North and South states within America, a very long time ago.

Education is the key. Understanding taught from an early age. And the mental wherewithal to apply knowledge to the world around you.

So in other words, it's not looking good for the human race.

I've long thought that bathing in or drinking other people's tears is a really bad idea. Do these people have any notion of how many nasty diseases can be transmitted that way?

Inconvenient truth: lefties started it, others mocked it.

I see you can't understand the difference between mocking and actual argumentation. In fairness, you can't manage either successfully. I know you're physically incapable of understanding context, but try for a second to understand the difference between "women should be treated like people because they are people, and oh my god the incoherent rage from entitled manlets (like you BM! This is you!) is hilarious" and, well buckshot and taj's posting in the thread about the Georgia election.

What argument? Just happy your team lost after pumping this one up for quite some time.

These are not the words of a man with a coherent view for why those dem losses are going to lead him to the promised land, but goddamn if he doesn't know that it will. His argument rests on the opposition of dems, and without them he'd have no guiding principles. He is defined by his opposition.

Incidentally, do me a favor and tell the audience how much you agree with your boy "Zyklon" Ben Garrison's (Yes, I use the nickname his biggest fans and current customer base gave him) recent interview in Wired saying that it's impossible for a man to have a relationship with a woman these days?

Oh and for the curious, the claim isn't that the west invented slavery but that the form of chattel slavery developed during the 1600s and 1700s was fundamentally distinct from prior forms of slavery both in how it treated slaves and how it interacted with society as a whole. We basically built a caste system from scratch.

How so? And what argument was I making? Be as specific as you can be.

I don't see how this is relevant.

Nahh, I'm quoting you for reference for Blue Max. Different thread even. Didn't factor in notifications.

Congratulations! You're an example!

Gosh, a "progressive" hurling personal insults as a debate argument? Who would have ever expected such a new and novel concept!

...........I'm stunned you actually owned the statement and defend it. That the people who ended slavery should still be punished for somehow, somehow being the "perfectors" of slavery.
And you say I'm illogical?
