Vanguard questions

I am really considering Vanguard. Could someone answer the following questions about the game for me? Thanks!

1. Items: Are player crafted items better than drops?
ex. In UO there were VERY few items that were better than player crafted.

2. Crafting: Is crafting a systems in itself?
ex. In WoW I can be a crafter, but I am FORCED to level to x+ to be able to craft x item.

3. Housing: How easy/hard is it to obtain a house?

4. Is the Fellowship system in the game that I read about on an unofficial faq?
The one where you can give some xp to a friend to keep them up close to your level.

5. Tell me more about the Phionist (sp?) Is it like EQ's enchanter class to a degree?

1. Even at lower levels player-crafted gear is better than what _commonly_ drops. I see plenty of blue crafted gear (gear is color coded, green==common, blue==uncommon, etc.) for players in mid-teens, which is exceeded only by the yellow gear that drops very rarely.

2. Crafting is a system in itself, but as I have not done anything with it yet I can't say for sure that you don't have a level requirement at some point.

3. Pretty hard, from what I can see at level 19. Money is meaningful in this game. At 19 I am approaching having my first gold. I believe the lowest price lot is 10g, and you then have to assemble the materials to construct the house.

4. Fellowships and caravaning are not in yet.

5. I don't know much about Psionists except that they are currently considered pretty Godlike. You might also want to look at Sorcs, also considered Godlike.

I LOVED my enchanter in EQ, I am hoping the Psionist lives up to my expectactions. Which is why I was wondering how he compairs.

Now if only I could sell that spare copy of WoW:BC so I could buy Vanguard...

For crafting, it isn't level restricted by your adventure class level. You could craft up to max level as a level 1 adventurer, but you would need to buy or have someone give you the stuff you would need from havesting since the higher the harvest type the higher level area it is in. Also you would need to eventualy get to higher level areas to get differant recepies and crafting styles.

Also for level restricted things like horses, you can either be x level adventurer, or x level crafter, or x skill level diplomat.

It should be noted that you don't actually need harvested items in order to level crafting. Work orders provide everything you need to level your crafting skills.

You will eventually want to get harvest items to craft the best items you can though.
