Hey all,
Just picked up a Vantec with the 7k rpm fan. The thing includes a 3 pin to 4 pin molex converter in the event that the motherboard is unable to handle the amperage required by such a fast fan. From what I understand, if the board can't handle the spec, I hear you risk frying the traces.
I was able to contact MSI for a friend and the K7T-Turbo(Raid)has no problems, but Asus just e-mails me this canned answer about my A7V.
Assumming my power supply can handle it, does anybody have any experience with this fan, the 3 pin connector, and the Asus A7v?
For those suggesting that I just go with the 4pin molex converter, I will if I have to, but I would really like to use the fan monitoring supplied by the board.
Thanks,
