Various Wolfenstein II's Benchmarks

I'll buy the new Metro game for sure. I don't mind spending $60 on a single player game. Far Cry 3 and 4 were both worth it, Gears of War were both awesome and worth it, DOOM was worth it, Rise of Tomb Raider was totally worth it, but for some reason, this game didn't feel worth it. Here's one reason:
I felt cheated during what was supposed to be big boss fights. They let me pick up powerful beam weapons that just destroyed the big bosses. I also just walked around with these huge beam weapons and easily strolled through the game because the beam weapons are way too OP. The game was too easy in certain key areas because of the weapon pickups and it felt cheap to me. Increasing difficulty won't fix that I don't think. I don't know. I just think it would have been more appropriately priced at $40 perhaps. That's my feeling on it. Oh, also. Titanfall 2's single player campaign was way shorter but also worth the money because of how badass it was. So it's not even the length of it really I suppose. I just detected some cheapness and lack of passion in the game. It was good and looked amazing, but something was missing that would have made it worth that $60 price.
Seriously, those beam weapons kind of ruined the game to be quite honest. Its like playing DOOM 2 and just strolling through the game with the BFG with endless ammo. That's what it felt like.

I'd go back and try to challenge yourself some day. I "cheated" and was able to unlock the hardest difficulty for my play through. I would recommend avoiding all the silly power weapons as I felt they were too overpowered. I'm burned out on Wolfenstein and not sure if I will beat it.

The game looks great, but gunplay is nowhere near as compelling as Rainbow 6 Siege which offers coop and pvp gameplay.

I just installed the game and have played it a bit.
Well, i have to admit someone mentioned how below average the dog looks and indeed, it is missing whiskers.

I am still in the submarine and i can turn everything to high or ultra settings at 1080p and still have over 100fps even with my richland cpu + RX480/8GB.
I have the game locked to 60Hz vertical sync and i noticed that my videocard fans drop in rpm quite a lot because of the v sync, which is obvious of course. The videocard has less frames to render and is more in the idle state.
I am amazed how well it runs so far. This is a big difference in comparison to wolfenstein new order.

I feel like the beginning with the mother, father, and dog are running at reduced visuals. It feels like a Console optimized cutscene that is not fully rendered.

Not sure why that is, but it isn't a big deal.

That feeling i have too, i am now at Roswell and i have to say, i am impressed so far.
There is so much detail, it is as if they found a way to just videorecord a filmset and then convert that recording to a 3d room with textures with proper filtering and do a bit of touchup after.
There are some minor things that i noticed like some filtering not going well at one place, but overall it is a fantastic experience with a constant smooth operation.
No hickups, tearing, stuttering or low fps rates and no audio issues.
It runs oily smooth. Especially moving around the mouse with the new teflon mousefeets i bought.

Well, although doom 2016 ran very well so it is not the engine. All i can say is that machinegames makes games that look realy nice but the games they make are crap.
I am now at the monster level and had 3 times that the game would not close down when i wanted to stop. And one time it would hang while i tried to save a game.
Whenever i think of machine games, i automatically assume from now on that the game will crash.

Try the verify integrity of game files option. I don't know if it will fix your problem, but I've had similar problems with Wolfenstein and Doom and doing this fixed it both times.

I verified the integrity of the game files. All are sucessfully validated as expected.
It has been 10 hours now of game playing and it mostly happened in the monster part and roswell. I guess there is something there that causes the game to do strange things.
Wolfenstein new order also had an issue, as soon as the chains to be cut became present in the user view, it would cause a driver crash on AMD hardware, if there would not have been a person in the steam community posting that a specific driver did not have the issue at the expense of reduced performance, i would have never been able to finish that game.
From my perspective it seems all machine games, games that i have played have issues.
At least i can play the game, worst case was that the game just refused to stop running when i want to stop.
I guess it could be worse. Others the game will not start at all.
I am now at the level with the giant firebreathing panzerhunds. It has been ok so far and incredibly detailed and great looking and smooth gameplay. No stutter, no tearing, no hickups. I give them that though.
