Vcore overclocking using VID pins on Slot 1 P3's

Has any of you attempted this? I would like to seek your expertise if you have.

Been playing with some CCO stepping P3's and would like to hardwire them to 1.8 or 1.8V using the VID pins on the SECC2 cartridge.

I've tried 3 ways, each time there is no video signal.

I believe that the old "pin-taping" trick for slot-1 processors would be your best bet for adjusting the Vcore on your CC0 SECC2 P3. You might have to do a little digging to find it though. There was plenty of web pages telling how to do this 2-3 years ago.

Correct, however I want to verify with someone whose done it the pins I need to amend. In other words to check with some other smart ass out there who knows his/her stuff on the VID pin matter.

I applied nail polish to the vid pins of a fcpga2 chip. It may work for the slot cpu's too.

Yup but if the Vcore is 1.7V then all the pins you need to change start at 1 so you need to connect the, not disable them.

So nail polish won't help in this case.

I need someone to discuss what pins need connecting how.

I find intel data sheets help this problem. Have you even looked at them yet? Yeah you are correct to get to higher vcores you need to connect some but I also found that I had to lose some too by the method explaind above or worse.

Yes I have the Intel documents. I have even cut out the Vcore table and studied it.

Somehow things aren't working.
