Vega Monitor Recommendation

Hello! I am going to be buying a new Ryzen / Vega system once the video cards are available at the end of July. I currently have a 1080p 60hz Samsung monitor. I am looking at having a monitor with Freesync and 27 - 32" size range. I really am not sure on the refresh rate needed? I am not sure if TN / IPS would be better for me.

I game but, not necessarily fast twitch shooters. My gaming preferences:

Mass Effect Andromeda (to come)
Fallout4
Total War series
Occasional shooters.

Since those games aren't heavy "twitch" shooters, I'd recommend either IPS or VA over TN. TN will have slightly (we are talking 1-2ms here!) better response time but worse colors. Depending on how long you plan to keep it I'd say you might want to wait for a good HDR monitor since thats the next "big thing". 1440p or 4k recommended at the size you are looking at. You also might want to check out a 34" Ultrawide which is the height of a 27" but the sides extended out. Best probably seen in person and played with for a while at a store like Costco, Bestbuy, or similar.

If you are going with Vega you should at least game 1440p. I would recommend one of the upcoming Samsung Freesync 2 monitors. It comes in both 27" and 32" Quantum Dot and VA

Considering 4K HDR 144hz monitors are around the corner and that's a great spot to get a monitor at that will last you long term, I'd get something stop gap and cheap for now.
You should be able to easily get a Freesync monitor for very cheap with decent specs until then.
I got a freesync monitor for under $400 that I don't mind getting rid of when 4K HDR 144hz comes around end of this year / 2018.

This is the gsync monitor, but once a panel is out, it will be able to be used for gsync and freesync so freesync models will defintely be around. Nvidia is just super aggressive with their partnerships and marketing while AMD isn't, but it will come.
