SO there is a bigger Vega? Vega with more than 4096 sp's?
I haven't seen those rumors.
Yes something like 290x successor.AMD have problems with money so they will release only 7970 successor 1year after GP104.I really dont know when or if they release 290x successor to compete with GP102.

Big Vega will compete with GTX 1070 and GTX 1080.
Small Vega will pretty much be a GTX 1060 competitor, replacing the Polaris line.

I disagree, Polaris stays in the lineup.
If AMD made Vega 11 ( the 490) performance smack in the middle of a gtx1060 and 1070 that would be a good card for ~ $299

I don't see why they need to replace Polaris.. it's been fairly succesful in its price segment. It's not typical for AMD to replace an architecture less than a year since its inception. They have specifically even said that Polaris was mainstream first while Vega was high end and performance.

Vega is complementary to Polaris, AMD has said as much in its investor presentations repeatedly.

Polaris is not going to be replaced in 2017.
Especially considering Apple is integrating it into a few of their designs, AMD would be a fool to stop offering Polaris in retail if its still developing new drivers for Apple. Polaris will continue to serve its targeted market until at least much later this year.

Vega was going to be late to the party from the very get-go. AMD simply did not have the funds to develop both at the same time. Hopefully if Vega is successful we will see a positive feedback loop wherein increased revenues from Vega + Zen will allow them to develop their next gen products even quicker which in turn will increase revenues further.

Polaris is still a great performer at it's price point...Essentially 390/980 performance and you can pick up an RX 480 around $170 pretty regularly if you wait for deals/discounts....honestly Polaris is probably going to be their bread and butter product line for 2017.

Refreshed maybe...but no significant changes as their only 6 months old and a pretty good performer at their price/power consumption levels...

refreshed = higher clocks with the same power usage mabe.
The 480 is already a full chip and the 460 is unlocking to a full chip.

This doesnt look to good for amd, they show vega slightly faster then gtx1080 on an amd friendly game...even fury x gets almost on gtx1080 levels on that particular game...by the look of it vega might end up on par with the gtx1070 or slightly faster.

I'm thinking rather about new revision on improved GloFo process - lower power consumption and at the same time a bit more performance.

The key question is has Vega brought a substantial improvement in perf/sp over Polaris. Unless AMD have improved perf/sp by 15- 20 % (at same clock) they do not stand a chance against Pascal and Pascal refresh. AMD are pretty much limited by TDP rather than die size. I think big Vega is the 4096 sp chip and small Vega will probably be a refresh of Polaris 10 with the Vega architecture and higher clocks. I also think small Vega will stick with GDDR5 or use GDDR5X (5 Ghz).

The use of tape, limited details, largely NDA'd event, still beating a 1080 while handicapped. I wonder what the reason could be? This isn't too hard. Why don't you tell us? I know you can do it!

This Doom leak is very similar to the Ashes of the Singularity leak with the Fury X. We all know how that turned out?

Wonder why they didn't use that game again?

Now we have a Vega (new fury x) leaking with a Doom/ Vulcan benchmark and to make it even worse its @ 4k.

Are you thinking what I'm thinking?
This is not good.

I think a lot of people are assuming this card is going to come out at the same price as a 1080. Remember Polaris launched at $199 and can already be had for as little as $169 from various vendors. Vega has a huge price band between their current cards and Nvidia's 1080. $400 variance between the two. Even if Vega comes in at twice Polaris's launch price ($399/$349) that's still a MASSIVE win for AMD. Even if it launches at 250% of Polaris's price point, that's still only $499 and again a big win for AMD. Most likely your looking at Vega trading blows with the 1080 and each being slightly faster depending on the game...AMD only needs to come in at a lower price point and with Polaris being so cheap their is plenty of opportunity.

Did you forget about RX 480 vs GTX 1060?
http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/foru.../73945-gtx-1060-vs-rx-480-updated-review.html

So this Is Vega with unoptimized driver , All slots were taped ( cause potential throttling according to PCGH.de).so with AIB Vega It would be close to GTX 1080Ti.Also We don't know It's Little or Big Vega.let's not jump to conclusions !!

I have tweeted to ask mr. Koduri about MI25 and it being dual setup. Raja Koduri confirmed MI25 is single GPU setup.

NewEgg has base 4GB RX 480s at $179 (less with discounts), and Furys starting at $259 (less with discounts). I really don't think Vega is going to be priced that high...probably a entry model in the $350-399 range.

I personally can't make any claims about that Vega cards performance compared to 1080 or Titan X pascal. Benchmarks that ain't done at same place are simply useless.

How can this be "big" Vega? The card runs a modified Fiji driver,so is apparently using 4096 shaders which that leak said a while ago. This looks like a modified Fiji GPU with more memory and a higher clockspeed.
