Here is hoping to some juicy detail leaks. Eager to see what AMD has planned. Nvidia has been nice to me, but I miss owning a top tier Radeon.

Hmm, I'm quite confused.

Why he used almost 3 months old build of the game (1.50.xx vs. current 2.2.0.5)?

Anyway, results are in par with R9 390(X)... so is that a Vega 11 or Polaris 10 XT2?

How this information have been missed?

https://videocardz.com/66239/what-we-know-about-vega

So basically, the RX 580 scores are from faster Polaris 10 GPU, actually the scores are 15% higher than fastest single RX 480. RX 560 can be full 1024 GCN core chip this way.

RX 590 to be Vega 11.

IMO no chances for it to have GDDR5(X) memory. High Bandwidth Cache Controller is inherent part of Vega architecture, and using anything else destroys whole point of architecture.

My guess:
RX Fury X (Big Vega full, water cooled, a-la original Fury X)
RX Fury (Big Vega, Cut down)
RX 590 (Little Vega)
Maybe? RX 585 (Cut Down Little Vega)
RX 580 (Polaris 480 Refresh/Rebrand)
RX 570 (Polaris 470 Refresh/Rebrand)

I would guess they're going to reuse the Fury name for the top end again in some fashion.

Benchmarked GTX 1080 on the same map

Add 4 to 5 fps more due to shadowplay.

It shows how much AMD is behind Nvidia and still they cannot compete with it.

More trolling and inflammatory posting.

It's still not allowed. Continue down this road and your time here. will be short .

An interesting post at SA forums:

What I find interesting about this video in particular and all of the images of Vega on display is that all have one thing in common, 3/8 of the LED lights above the PCI-E power connectors are lit up. Fiji used these LEDs specifically as a GPU load meter. If that's the case here again, he's actually ingame and we can see clear as day 3/8 of these indicator lights are active. Is AMD really sandbagging Vega performance to bait Nvidia into thinking it's somewhere in between the GTX 1080 and TITAN XP performance wise at best?

While this does give some hope, it's also possible that utilisation isn't being reported properly, or that Vega has serious utilisation problems that aren't intentional sandbagging.

Good catch!

If true.... if it's doing 4k60 on a 3 out of 8 scale....

could be either good or bad, as you say, or simply AMD isn't using those LEDs as a power/usage meter anymore. I mean, there was the "Poor Volta" thing hidden in the "make some noise" Vega video...

We'll see tomorrow what AMD has prepared for Vega. I'll watch that live stream if I can.

Seems out there unless Vega has really steep power-frequency curve. Hard to see AMD leapfrogging Nvidia, then again Ryzen is a lot better than I was expecting.

It looks similar, tho im not sure it is exactly the same thing. But who knows? If the GPU in question is in Fury line, it would be logical to have the same feature, in the GPU that is going to replace previous flagship.

What if the LEDs are indicating that power is only drawn from the 6 pin i.e. they finally fixed their power consumption vs the competition?

But then we knew Ryzen was a clear departure from their previous CPU architecture even from the beginning. They've done their homework and have clearly put out a product that from price to performance atm is looking really awesome (Im really really thinking of ditching my antique of a platform - very tempted).

However maybe the same cannot be said about VEGA as its just another continuation of the GCN architecture. Would be exciting with its a game changer though!

What many in the press erroneously called GCN 1.1 and 1.2 are actually GCN 2 and 3. Polaris is GCN 4. These are the terms AMD officially uses. As I understand it, they are calling it NCU instead of GCN 5. Ignoring anything else, that a sign.

It remains to be seen what the press does. I've seen Polaris called GCN 1.3. Maybe these folks will call it 1.4, or we'll finally have the elusive GCN 2.0 from them.

They are partnering with Liquid Sky to have Vega in the cloud. Not a fan of cloud game streaming but at least price wise it is way cheaper than Nvidia's cloud deal for 1060/1080.

So far, they aren't releasing that much info on either Vega or Ryzen....
Some of the demos look nice though.

Pretty sure he said that they'd do Vega info at the end, mostly just demo / partnerships for now.
