So what exactly is special about the RX card....
Stay tuned, only a few hours left before the flood gates open.

For one change, since they are using 2 packages of 4HI instead of 2 packages of 8HI, maybe, just maybe they can increase the bandwidth more by running HBM faster.
Other than that.... *shrug*

Interesting that the one Linus showed had the word Radeon on the front of the shroud but other sites are showing the front shroud with the vega logo. Both air cooled. I've only seen the liquid edition with the vega logo
Linus had the real thing in his hand. A lot of these other "photos" might well be renders.

AFAIK, nobody will have cards for review today. (maybe in 1-2+ weeks?)

AMD will just spoon feed everyone what they want to put out.

No. F'ing. WAY.

After literally YEARS of waiting, reading the "Raja says it's not Fiji" quote 3,000X, the wait for real benchmarks goes on?!?

YeeeeARRGGGHHHHH!!!

LOL AlwaysMaintainingDelay

Well, color me disappointed. I thought this was launch day.

This guy is speaking as a stockholder, and from that perspective, optimism may be warranted. Vega is not necessarily going to be a financial flop for AMD, as Instinct MI25 and Radeon Pro WX 7100 could be competitive products in their segments, and those segments are profitable. Furthermore, RTG is really a small part of AMD's valuation at this point; Ryzen is much more important.

For gamers, though, I don't really see much optimism on the horizon with Vega - or anything else from AMD. The truth is, AMD basically decided to give a giant middle finger (why doesn't the emoji work?) to the enthusiasts who brought them through tough times. Harley-Davidson did the same thing to their hardcore fans a while back. Remember, corporations have no conscience and will screw you over whenever they can. Even AMD.

Videocardz is saying recommended PSU 750W for RX 64 air/le and 1000W for liquid !!

Well that's got to be a new record for single card. I would guess you're going to be wanting a good 1000W PSU as well, and if that is true it could definitely add some cost to your build.

You think the FE needs an 850W PSU (recommended) with it's ~290W?

"For gamers, though, I don't really see much optimism on the horizon with Vega - or anything else from AMD"

May I ask , why do you think so? If they can offer good performance for $399 (Vega 56) , why would I as a gamer care about anything else (bragging rights BS, faster/slower than model X,Y, Z).
Couple it with decent size 144Hz IPS monitor with Freesync like this - http://www.anandtech.com/show/11458/nixeus-nxedg27-27inch-gaming-monitor-1440p-144hz-freesync , and you have decent gaming set up for the next few years and the price more people could afford.

At the same time getting some crazy performance goal but ending up with product that costs multiples of $399 is the very example of something bad for much higher number of gamers . Costs DO matter in value...

AMD keeps falling further behind Nvidia all the time. GCN 1.1 beat Kepler; GCN 1.2 fell somewhat short of the top Maxwell; now it looks like GCN 1.4 is going to fall way, way short of the best Pascal cards.

The Volta GTX 1160 (or 2060 or whatever it gets called) will be as powerful as the GTX 1080, with a TDP of 120W, and a price of probably $299-$349. When Volta drops, AMD's entire GPU lineup is pretty much obsolete as far as gaming is concerned. They would have to set prices so low that it would be below manufacturing cost.

They recommended 750W for Hawaii too even though you had a ton of headroom on a quality 550 watt unit.

Latest - https://videocardz.com/71430/amd-announces-radeon-rx-vega-64-series

AMD is also introducing Radeon Packs: 2 free games, up to 100 USD off from Ryzen 7/motherboard combo and up to 200 USD off from FreeSync monitor.

AMD Radeon RX Vega series are here. There are currently six Vega cards, two Frontiers, three RX Vega 64s and a cut-down version called RX Vega 56.
Starting with the 56. This model has 3584 Stream Processors, 10.5 TFLOPs computing power, 410 GB/s memory bandwidth (so around 800 MHz clock) and a price tag of 399 USD.

AMD Radeon RX Vega 64 comes in three variants. The cheapest one is 499 USD, this card has 4096 Stream Processors, 8GB HBM2 memory and 484 GB/s bandwidth. The TDP is 295W and it will offer up to 12.66 TFLOPs of power.
The fastest Vega is called RX Vega 64 Liquid Cooled Edition. This model has higher TDP (345W), but also higher clocks up to 1677 MHz. This card will cost you 699 USD.
The Vega 64 is compared to GTX 1080 and 980 Ti in 4K and 1440p Ultrawide gaming. Based on the numbers on the slides RX Vega 64 will offer higher average framerate:

This picture from videocardz:

These pictures from here: https://soundbooksfuntoys.com/2017/07/31/radeon-rx-vega-six-things-you-should-know-about-amds-gpu/
Which looks like they are from gamespot

AMD has also announced several bundles, which include two free games (Prey 2 and Wolfenstein II), a $100 discount on a Ryzen 7 CPU, and a $200 discount on a Samsung ultra-wide monitor
