You are completely missing the point of most rational vegans/vegetarians, as the majority do not believe they are making things better for animals by not eating them, but are just conflicted about consuming something they see as an intelligent being. It is a personal decision coming from some sort of moral conflict they are having within.

Then there are weirdos like me that do it just for fun, but now eat meat like a ravenous tiger.

I'm sure the nut jobs are going psycho over the new report that the Atkins type diet is the most effective at weight loss, the lowering of bad cholesterol and the raising of good cholesterol. The fact is that eating meat the right way is actually healthy for you while you have to be extremely careful on a vegan diet to get the right proteins to stay healthy.

PETA members are supporters of Domestic Terrorism.

PETA should be treated the same way we would any terrorist organization - with a 2,000lb guided bomb during a board meeting.

Which is also how we should treat that terrorist organization called the Republican National Committee...or it's "guiding" organization, the Project for a New American Century...

As long as we save a MOAB for that big convention in Denver next month.

Hell, I'm good with that, as long as we get all of them...

Maybee we can get both the Republicans and Democrats to hold their convention at the same place/time so we can get rid of all of em in one shot.

I can agree with that.

Thai and Vietnamese restaurants are good places to patronage on a vegan plan. I highly recommend it to anyone serious about their food/caloric intake. I am not a practicing vegan full-time, but I do have vegan days. It is quite sad the amount of meat/dairy products used in everyday foods unnecessarily.

YOU ARE IRRATIONAL AND SHOULD BE BOMBED!

And, FUCK YEAH, vegetarianism is not normal! That's the same way the slower, more timid hominids felt about our ancestors who descended out of the trees.

Look at that crazy fuck Tall Bill, he's trying to walk upright! Where will this possibly lead? I must beat my chest and complain about him. THAT'S NOT NORMAL!!!

lol, k noob.

???

Lol at your link. YOU ARE IRRATIONAL (WELL, IGNORANT, ANYWAY) AND SHOULD BE BOMBED!

Do you get ALL your information from industry financed shills???

From Wikipedia:

The group was created in 1995 as the Guest Choice Network by Richard Berman, executive director of the public affairs firm Berman and Company, with $600,000 from the Philip Morris tobacco company.[3]

They oppose MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving). You on board with your right to slaughter your fellow citizens while drunk, too?

The Center for Consumer Freedom (CCF) (formerly called the "Guest Choice Network") is a front group for the restaurant, alcohol and tobacco industries. It runs media campaigns which oppose the efforts of scientists, doctors, health advocates, environmentalists and groups like Mothers Against Drunk Driving,

Here's a third link, numbnuts.

The Center for Consumer Freedom is a nonprofit corporation run by lobbyist Richard Berman through his Washington, D.C.-based for-profit public relations company, Berman & Co. The Center for Consumer Freedom, formerly known as the Guest Choice Network, was set up by Berman with a $600,000 ?donation? from tobacco company Philip Morris.

Berman arranges for large sums of corporate money to find its way into nonprofit societies of which he is the executive director. He then hires his own company as a consultant to these nonprofit groups. Of the millions of dollars ?donated? by Philip Morris between the years 1995 and 1998, 49 percent to 79 percent went directly to Berman or Berman & Co.

Richard Berman is an influence peddler. He has worked out a scheme to funnel charitable donations from wealthy corporations into his own pocket. In exchange, he provides a flurry of disinformation, flawed studies, op-ed pieces, letters to the editor, and trade-industry articles, as well as access to his high-level government contacts, who are servants of the industries he represents.

Berman?s name might sound familiar. In 1995, Berman and Norm Brinker, his former boss at Steak and Ale Restaurants, were identified as the special-interest lobbyists who donated the $25,000 that disgraced then-House Speaker Newt Gingrich, who was hauled before the House Ethics Committee for influence-peddling over the money. Berman and Brinker were lobbying against raising the minimum wage.

Richard Berman is a spin doctor. For example, he has argued against a Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) initiative to lower the blood alcohol content (BAC) limit for drivers by claiming that the stricter limits would punish responsible social drinkers. He has claimed that U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) warnings about salmonella-related food poisoning are just ?whipping up fear over food.?

Here?s how an internal Philip Morris memo described Berman?s spin: ?His proposed solution would broaden the focus of the ?smoking issue,? and expand into the bigger picture of over-regulation.? Smoking won?t kill you; over-regulation will.

Berman is ?a one-man wrecking crew on important issues.? His approach has been described as ?misleading? and ?despicable.? Berman has been called ?a tobacco company whore,? but he?s branched out since then.

You can even listen to Stephen Colbert rip this toad Berman a new one here:

Colbert: What do you do for the Center for Consumer Freedom?

Berman: I defend consumers' rights.

Colbert: So do consumers come to you and say, "Defend my rights"?

Berman: No, I figure out what's wrong with people's rights, and I -

Colbert: But who comes to you and says, "Here, here, defend our rights"?

Berman: I get up in the morning and I see crazy stuff and I say, "We gotta do something about that."

Colbert: Who's paying you?

Berman: Ah . . . lot's of people.

Colbert: Who?

Berman: Ah, actually consumers; actually businesses, and then of course -

Colbert: Businesses whose consumers are being denied the freedom to use their product?

You, sir, are the current poster child for massive, EPIC fail.

epic fail?

disprove the claims. even a stopped watch is right twice a day as they say. prove what in the link is wrong. try it. none of your 3 links have anything to disprove the allegations of petas ties to domestic terrorism.

The Bush administration is the main military supporter of Saudi Arabia. Fifteen of the 911 hijackers were from Saudi Arabia. ZOMG, the Bush administration supports domestic terrorism!

See how that works?

actually no since the bush admin isn't handing money directly to terrorists and doesn't secretly share sympathies with them.

once again, disprove the claim.

you cant.

eh, i'm fine with eating rabbits. but, it's a little silly for you to state that vegans in general are morons. i've known a lot of perfectly rational vegans. PETA members on the other hand...

Shens. Vegans = irrational.

Yeah, absolute generalizations are absolutely correct 100% of the time.

KT

No, I'm sorry, strict veganism is an irrational position.

Actually... you can make rational arguments for it. Eating meat takes quite a bit more resources than eating veggies. To feed a cow grain and then to eat the cow is less efficient than just eating the grain.

Cows also are a major contributor to greenhouse gas production if you're worried about that sort of thing.

You can make plenty of rational arguments for being vegan, but I'm not one. I like a slab of dead cow once and a while. I do think I need to cut down on how much meat I eat, but that's mostly because my midsection is growing.

if the entire world went vegan, would our crop system be able to support it? i doubt it.

We'd have to switch from grains we feed to animals to grains that people eat (less corn, more wheat). The world obviously has the capacity because growing stuff to feed to an animal which you will then eat is less efficient than growing something to eat directly. Cut out the middle man and you could actually feed everyone on LESS land with LESS energy to do it.

From bash.org:
<green> We vegetarians love the environment. carnivores are sick freaks.
<Frank> How can vegetarians possibly love the environment.. you keep eating all the fucking plants

I went vegetarian for about five years- by the end of that I bruised easily and had a ravenous craving for garlic shrimp.
Difficult to stay properly nourished on a vegetarian diet, impossible on a vegan diet without raiding the nutritional supplement section.
That said, you don't need to eat a steak daily to stay healthy either.
