Over the last 5 years I would say i average 8-10 lbs. of meat(pork ,beef, poultry, fish, etc) per month. I am 53 and way app. 200 lbs. and have eaten meats all my life, but I am reducing meat
products from main course status to merely another ingredient, example: Spaghetti sauce, I will use a pound or a little more depending on fat content and this sauce will feed me for 4-5 days, by freezing half of it for later use. If i make a beef stew using about a pound of meat the veggies will weigh 2-3 lbs. and will feed me for 3 days, same deal with a teriyaki stir-fry i make, by the time I have added the veggies and rice the meat portion of the meal is maybe 20% of the dish. When I eat pizza i always order cheese only, always have(I love a good cheese pizza). My meat consumption is probably 1/2 -1/3 of what it used to be, I eat lots of fruits and vegetables breads and nuts and beer.
I guess I am a little like that guy in the "Outback Steakhouse" commercial , who is a "vegetarian" but, we still eat a little beef pork and chicken. LOL
