Why do you generalize vegetarians as against killing animals for food? Some people are vegetarians for health reasons and others just prefer non meat foods.

Personally not a vegetarian but my father is one and a fairly strict one. Not a vegan but no fish or red meat of any kind. He's not a proselytizing vegetarian though, would never tell anyone that they are doing something wrong. My question is what bothers others about vegetarians?

there are health issues that force one to become a vegan? eh?
no such thing.... humans are better off as omnivores... LOOK AT OUR TEETH! becoming an herbivore is a very unintelligent lifestyle if you ask me, important natural nutrients are in those animals and are being missed (yes in the things with legs that walk around before we butcher them for food...).

Most of the people I know who are vegetarians are from India, and their justification typically has to do with a mixture of religious beliefs and the concept that eating animals that were once alive is wrong and/or disgusting.
