Both are at 1.6 v. and
the YBBLE0523CPBW is running 2700 on a MSI K8N NEO4 PLATINUM SLI w/COOLERMASTER VORTEX air.

The CBBHD0450UPBW is running 2871 on a DFI NF4 Ultra D (9x319htt) w/XP-90 air.
If these reports are to be believed, this is a serious overclock.

This links take you to the Website. I don;t see any where these two overclocks.

You have to go into the CPU Database and look for yourself...there is no way to link into it...

My e3 venice has a BW at the end of the stepping, so that has nothing to do with the new revision.

The stepping on my e6 is LBBWE 0528CPBW

Hopefully I can find out tomorrow. My damn Connect3d x800XL is dead so tomorrow I'm going to pick up a super cheap PCI replacement for the time being.

BTW, LBBxE is a very desirable model. It does not appear that the CBBxE steppings are very good overclockers.
But, what do I know...

Don't forget the $300 x16 video card.
Previously, I had stacked a 3000+ on an nForce3 Ultra (MSI K8N NEO2 PLATINUM) and was very disappointed. Wouldn't overclock, very unstable, driver issues, poor support from MSI... and so forth.

That's why I wanted to try the nForce4 Ultra platform. I really wanted the Gigabyte with the 1394b (800 Firewire) but didn't want the $300 hit on the video in addition to everything else. Going the nForce4 route, I couldn't keep it under a $grand$. (Well, maybe I could, but to deprive myself...)

I am planning on going with the DFI ultra most likely. Though I suppose if a deal comes around on an SLi I would go for it. As far as the video card, I am still undecided on which way to go (obviously nVidia if I get SLi)

Well i don;t understand why people are buying DFI, instead of MSI which has the best combination of Overclocking, Performance, & Utilities in the Motherboard than DFI.
You guys should read the Comparison made by Anandtech before making any decisions.

I've bought my last MSI. The last two were sour experiences. And nothing I hate more than being ignored by tech support on product issues. Not even an answer to my e-mails. :disgust::|:frown:

You are very very confused. The BW designation that identifies the E6 revision is in the product number shown on the box, not the so called "stepping" code printed on the CPU itself (which identifes the manufacturing series - location and date).

btw, on extreme systems people are saying these do not overclock that well. Some people cant even get 2.4 ghz, which is less then a typical winchester.....

Maybe you should take a look at some of the hardcore oc sites and see what they are using. I've had an MSI Neo4 Platinum and it wouldn't oc nearly as well as my DFI. Maybe Anandtech got a particularly good one because I've seen a lot of people with the same problem as I had, which was malfunctioning pci/ide locks. The MSI are good boards and I still recommend them to friends of mine but, unless they've fixed the pci/ide lock problem, than their ocing ability doesn't hold a candle to the DFI boards.

I've had one of the MSI Neo2 Platinum in my home box for about 9 months. It's paired with 3200+ Winchester and 2x512mb sticks of PC4400 CAS 2.5 ram. This setup has been running 24/7 @ 2.6+ ghz (260 FSB and ram at 1:1) on air. I've never had the first problem, but you need to know its limiting factors. Mostly, to get these speeds you can only use 2 DIMMs, otherwise it defaults to DDR333 speeds. Secondly, if using SATA you have to use connectors 3 and 4, not 1 or 2 (1 and 2 are not IDE/PCI locked).

The Neo2 I had was actually a pretty good board. It came closer to the DFI I have than the Neo4 and if you have an AGP card than I think it's the best choice out there. The Neo4 just left a bad taste in my mouth, but maybe they've resolved the issues they were having with the pci/ide locks, as none of the sata ports were locked on my board (past 240MHz that is).

Just a bit of caution, when the original Venice chips came out I got one. A very big website posted how their sample overclocked well over 50% with the stock heat sink. I bought into it as did tons of people. With top quality parts, I overclock just over 25%. No one was getting even close to 50% on air.

I would wait until they actually come out unless you want it regardless of how well it o/c's.

I'm only getting a 20% stable oc with retail heatsink on my 3200 Venice. It's a 0518 LBBLE. I got mine from the AMD Tech Tour. If the trend with later week Venice CPUs is worse overclocking, I'll just keep mine and wait for X2 prices to drop in a year or so.

It is really surprising that none of us got their CHIP yet, or people are mad because it did not overclock well. If any body got its chip and have some results please post it here so other people will know whats going on.
If this chip is really bad then some of us might still cancel their orders.
Need some reviews people.

Be patient, if you don't want to take the risk cancel your order now and wait for more results.

Not all E6s are good. They aren't very good overall though. I have a friend who can't hit 290*9 at all even if he puts in 1.75 volts and is under 50 deg.... =(
