I got my e6 last week and I've been playing with it... max i can get was 2.45ghz on 1.55 volts. I can boot up at 2.5, but it wouldn't be stable, or would fail prime95. I'm humming along easily at 2.35 at 1.4v, so I'll just keep it at that for now. Less heat that way.

I noticed they had free shipping on these today, total price around $119. I don't know if it was posted or not.
I got my tracking number today too finally. Apparently they actually did ship it on the same day I ordered, and it should show up tomorrow.

3000 hit 2.7 2.8 easily? :Q

I was under the impression those were the top clocks (week 17). Would love to see some more results. I have two that should be here tomarrow and one I've already received but was promissed to a client so I didn't get a chance to test it.

I hit 2.7ghz on 1.57v heres the Linky

Edit: I think i'm the only one that hit 2.7ghz on the new e6's for now, with out going over 1.65v, so please remmeber YMMV big time on this one. I guess I got a good chip, my everyday use is 290x9 @ 1.4v, every day use, and runs cool at 30C/39C prime load. Remember, the results so far arent that good. Only buy this chip if you have money to play around with, because this is a BIG YMMV on trying to get 2.7+.

I have a DFI Lanparty NF4 Ultra-D. I will play with it more before I rule out it's limit. Could be my Neopower 480W PS not enough to push it very high, but I won't shell out more money for a PS just to get the 200mhz in speed.

I got a PSU today I ordered a week ago and the status showed "in warehouse" when it arrived. The shipment actually beat the shipment notification email to my door. Bottom line: they're pretty good at getting the stuff out but suck at status updates.

These chips are no better than the week 20+ E3's guys, I've personally tested a couple of them and they clock about the same. How high your paticular chip will clock will be luck, but don't expect E3 Week 16-19 results, not even close.

I happen to be buying components for a new gaming system and amd 3000+ venice seems to be highly recommended and fits my budgets. Is this thread just for overclockers or is this a worthwhile chip for a casual user? Would I want to overclock now or to prolong it's lifespan once it gets old? Durability is an issue, since I plan on using the chip for 2-4 years.

Finally, would this http://www.newegg.com/product/Product.asp?item=N82E16813188002 be a good mobo for overclocking this chip? I know it's not one of the popular mobo's but it's free. Also what about this heatsink and fan, it's cheap and is also quiet http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835106604

What BIOS are you running with on your DFI mobo?

I have the DFI NF4 UT SLI-DR and my 3000+ E3 Venice easily hits 2520MHz on 1.48v. Im also using the 6-23-3 BIOS and have had the best results by far on that version.

I have the latest BIOS too. You say you have an E3? Probably clocks better than my E6. I can boot into windows at 2.5ghz, but it'll never pass prime95, even taking out the RAM as a factor via dividers. The temps are nice and low at whatever voltage I put at it, unless it's 1.6v, so I don't believe it's a heat issue. Just a dud.

My E6 is at 2.6 @ 1.5v haven't tried higher vcore or speed. Just burning in right now so I can lower vcore.

Why do you think the MSI will be the best choice to hit 3Ghz... Obviously DFI boards have the most options for overclocking, and have the highest voltages.

Because you Ultra D does not support SLI, and here is a comparison in which MSI SLI & DFI SLI tie in the comparison.

Anandtech Comparison

I didn't realize SLI was a requirement for high overclocks.
Thank you, Captain Retardo, for another one of your frequent wise lessons.

I almost pulled the trigger on one of these, since $119 shipped is a pretty awesome deal. I couldn't do it, though, as I'm too strapped for cash at the moment, and my e3 is sitting at 2.52 @ 1.475v right now, which I'm happy with. Seems like very few of these are hitting 2.7, so I think I'm glad I didn't get the chance to play with one.
