After reading this thread for a while, I decided to bite on a "BW" from Ewiz. I got a MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum refurb from Newegg for $65 shipped. I also got Thermaltake Venus 12 to mount on that 3000+. I stuck with AGP so I could use my refurb x800 PE with it.

You should have bought DFI LanParty ULTRA D for $80 from newegg refurbished. Which you could have moded to SLI, or you could get $95 MSI NEO4 PLatinum SLI. Why did you bought NEO2 for $65.
Only $15 more would have gave you more options like SLI, great overclocking options & SLI Chipset, with some nice onboard sounds.

Why would he buy an Ultra D or Neo4? Did you not read his post? He has an AGP card that is more than enough to handle every game out right now. He has NO REASON to go PCI-e. He can't SLI an AGP card, the overclocking on the NF3 is just as good as the NF4, and the sound on both sucks equally.

QFT :thumbsup:

Thanks for sticking up for me against the "Reading Comprehension Challenged".

The "BP" is an E3. You're right, I don't see the E6 there anymore. Never heard of compuvest before either.

Here is the side by side comparison between the 2 LINK

The only difference is the Max Temp. I'm not sure if it means that the E6 runs cooler or it fries out at 65

check a few pages back thres lots of discussion on e3/e6. It seems they dont overclock as well as e3s. But stock for stock I believe the e6 runs on a little less voltage then teh e3.

after numerous tries my final clock is 2609mhz 9x290. anything above 290 isnt stable and i dont wanna go any higher on the vcore. i tried many different bios but none of them were as good as 1.71B.

these arent that bad just needs more volts compared to the e3's. im probably not gonna keep this, might get a e3 and save this one for my gf when she wants a computer in the next month or two.

I bought a BW e6 from ewiz, hoping to get 2800+ out of it. All i got was the typical 290x9 for 2610Mhz that I've been seeing a lot of for a max on the E6 Venice.

A heck of a lot faster than my Athlon XP 2500-M that i had overclocked to 2500Mhz, and I'll be upgrading to a dual core x2 for the M2 socket in 2006.

i got mine from ewiz also. i wanted 2700mhz out of mine but no go. whats your stepping? mine's LBBWE 0530CPFW. i to also upgraded from a AXP 2500+@3200+ (desktop ver.) and this venice was faster than that even at stock speeds :Q and it ran so much cooler than my barton.

i wont be upgrading anytime soon just might get a bigger hard drive and better ram.

I threw away my stepping code accidentally (ooops!) but I'm almost certain that its the exactly stepping as yours. The 0530 reminds be of what i wrote down.

I have seen a LOT of 2610Mhz (9x290) on the forums from the E6's from eWiz. Voltage, cooling really doesn't matter much. My HT can go up to 340 without crapping out on me, and my memory is the Crucial VS 2x1gb that can do 240Mhz easily @ 3-3-3-10 settings.

Its the CPU that craps out early. I have it at 1.55v right now, and even at higher voltages it doesn't budge much from the 2610Mhz even with different memory dividers, HT, BIOSES, etc.

But, for $125 shipped I'm not complaining. Now that I have this overclocked, it runs circles around my older Barton 2500Mhz NF7-S system. (btw, which i'm selling on ebay with 1.5GB of Corsair XMS memory, just search for it!)

I'm wanting one of those Athlon64 x2 setups though! Next year perhaps when M2 comes out....or in 3 months when I can't stand running Photoshop on a single core cpu!

when i set the vcore to 1.7v i could get into windows at 9x300 but wasnt stable

that was using the 100 divider, i cant use the 133 divider cause it wont post if i do.

maybe with watercooling we could reach higher but i dont like watercooling, just to much work for me. im lazy plus i live in socal and its been freakin' hot the last couple of days and i dont always use the a/c.

i would've gone X2 but didnt wanna shell out that kinda dough for a cpu and i dont do stuff like photoshop, etc. i mostly game and sometimes rip dvds.

Bump for an answer.
I'm curious as well.

It should be because all the E versions should be able to run all 4 DIMMs full in 1T.

So, I thought these were supposed to run at 1.35 or 1.4v. Mine is at 1.5 in cpuz and in my bios with everything being at default.

My 3000 is at 280x9 at 1.5v. It can do it at 1.45 too but due to new bios I can't get it that low. Btw, I have a 3200 on the way as well.

No, this is a matter of whether you have single or sided ram.

XP-90/zalmanzf2 and as5, 30* case temp, 32* idle, 39* at 9 hours of prime. I'm at 2520 at ~1.43-1.46. I'd love to show screens but my BIOS flash went wrong and 5 minutes later my floppy drive went kaput so I had to order a new one.

Ok here is my results for E6 3000+ it took me a month to get my parts, but any way long story short.

3000+ 1.8ghz E6 @ 2.7ghz
MSI NEO4 PLatinum SLI with BIOS 3.6
1GB Geil PC3200
6800GT @ 400/1150.

How did i achieved it.
Settings in BIOS:

FSB = 300
HT = 3X
Memory = 133mhz in BIOS but overclocked to 400mhz with 2.85V
CPU Volt = 1.45 & 6.6% over CPU volt. = 1.5457
Mem Volt = 2.85V
NF4 = 1.65

But i am still playing with it i will update my results. I am really impressed with the results to be honest 50% overclock is the best overclock i have in my life.

Is that prime stable or is that just what it boots at? I can boot mine at 2.75 but it fails prime within a minute, superPI as well.

I've got mine at 295x9= 2655mhz so far. It would boot into windows at 300x9 but would freeze soon afterward. Maybe I could get more by raising the voltage some more but I'm being a little cautious.

Anyway, here's the setup so far

E6 3000+ @ 2655mhz with 1.5v from Ewiz
Thermaltake Venus 12 and AS5 paste
MSI Neo2 Platinum refurb from Newegg
512MB Kingston Hyper X PC3500@2.65v(The other stick is still in my other machine)

It will run Prime stable, but I've only ran it for about half an hour.
I'll be playing with this for a few weeks to get it right.
