lol your worried about 39C on a loaded CPU!? ,there's nothing wrong with that temperature.Your extra 150MHz & 0.05v voltage will partially account for the temp differences ,the rest could be down to differently calibrated CPU sensors because of bios revision (they are not particularly accurate anyway) ,different HSF ,different case ,other cooling etc.
If anything I'd say that 32C is an unrealistically low temp on air cooling ,............unless ambient temps are around 10C or less

SEMPRON 2800+ @ 2640MHz @ 1.55v
EPoX 8NPA7I

plGrimlocK

plGrimlock, I also have a sempron 2800+ on an EpoX 8NPA7I, how do i get it to run at higher speeds, like your 2.6Mhz. Do I only have to increase the FSB from its 200 default and increase also the v core? What about the HTT?

Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

If you want more MHz's from your cpu, you must set HT multiplier x3, mem frequency - 100mhz, and increase FSB. When system was crashed, increase vcore, and check result's. My cpu working at default vcore @ 2300mhz...Good luck with oc

And you'll need to test your overclock is stable with Prime95 ,with the final test being at least 12hrs.

Good luck & welcome to AT forums

Spacemarine - I have one request Plz, check your max vcore in bios, becouse I was read in the one review our mobo, and there it wrote that max vcore on sempron is +0.35v, but I can only set + 0.15v...in mainboard manual it is written this same...I have 1.0 rev and the latest bios, I was tested oldest bios and everthing was similar like the latest bios.

Uh, maybe he's just buying them? Maybe building systems for people and "checking" them before handing them over? I do something similar... buying up cheap stuff to play with. Look for my Biostar Tforce6100 motherboard review in Motherboards... in a few minutes. I was able to push my Sempron 2600+ to new hights on that board, 2520MHz with 315MHz HTT at a frightening voltage of 1.65V vcore.

Nice. I got my 3300+ to 2.7GHz also... wonder if that's the "typical" upper end overclock for E3/E6 Palermos? BTW, mine was an E3.

Nice! ,what's with the vcore in CPU-Z?

A PC I've just built for a mate has a Semp 3000 & I'm just about to find out how much that overclocks by

My Semp64 3100 maxes out at 2.5GHz @1.46v ,not bad ,I reckon it might go higher if the mbrd (Asus K8N) actually set the voltage I ask for:disgust:

Perhaps that Sempron 3000+ and my 3300+ hits such high overclocks of 2.7GHz because they are the 128k cache versions?

I seem to recall some discussions here last spring suggesting the 128k cache semprons do indeed oc better, on average, than the 256k versions.

However, I also fondly remember the x-bit review of the 256k E3-Palermos when they first came out: their 256k 3100+ could hit 2.68GHz on a 13% overvolt (1.58V). Linky

Nice chips ...almost makes me want to trade in my newcastle

Well my mates Semp 3000 must be a 'poor' one ,it only got to 2.34GHz @1.46v ,though that was only with the std retail Alu HSF.

My 3100 Sempron (130nn) is running at 2400MHz (5:6 memory divider, 1.46 Vcore, 2.5-3-3-5-1T timing with 2 x 512MB Corsair VS). The 16M SP time is indentical to that overclocked Sempron 3000 running at 2700MHz. I could knock off another second by upping Vcore to 1.55 and FSB to 273MHz. A higher FSB speed will require the next lower memory divider. I also suspect that I'm close to the upper limit of this ECS NF3 board.

Hi again, guys!

Just found this thread and it looks like my oc isn't that bad:

A64 3000+, Venice
CBBWE 0538BPCW
MB: Asus K8N4-E Deluxe
Stock aircooling

This is what i get (prime stable)
1. Default vcore (1.4V)
2.5GHz, 250x10

2. vcore = 1.525
2.65GHz, 265x10

Anything higher than 2.65 isn't primestable but maybe with better PSU.
I'm running the 2.65 oc 24x7 and temps haven't been an issue (max load temps so far ~43C, but in general the temps are arround 40C @ 100% load)

3. "Suicide" oc: Highest bootable but unstable oc @ 1.55V (mobo won't go higher and psu doesn't supply enough juice to keep this voltage as bios reports only 1.52V )
2.8GHz, 280x10

powerBar, that's not a suicide overclock. Mine was closer, with pumping 1.65v into my Sempron 2600+ to hit 2.52GHz. A true suicide overclock would be to pump 1.8V through it while supercooling the CPU with dry ice or something.

yeah i know, i'm just giving it max volts my mobo allows me to select (1.55V) and the oc is more or less good enough to make a cpuz screenshot or "work" at idle. although i'd really like to have the cpu stable at 2.8GHz - any suggestions?
