Further proof that everybody who says you need 30 amps to OC a CPU is crazy. I've been telling people for months that Winchesters in non-SLI setups don't require any more power than AXP and here's the article I've been waiting for to prove me right.

I'm glad to see Venice @ that speed too, since it looks like the X2's will be out of my range initially.

And don't forget one question: this article is excellent not only to know the great work made by AMD with 0.09m process with Winchester & Venice core, but to know too what we can expect in this area with X2 CPUs. Remember X2 is Venice or San Diego core after all, so if we aren't specially optimistic, we can expect a nice ~60-70W tipical power consumition under load with X2 2,2-2,4 (remember insane P4D 130W tipical power consumition).

This is simply amazing, specially because we'll enjoy with an outstanding perfomance system, and most important, at least to me, a cool and quiet system

Any reason why their power consumption figures are so much lower than xbitlabs' ones? AFAIK, xbitlabs measures before VRM, while lostcircuits measures after. Why does this cause such a large difference though?
