Boy was that misleading. I did NOT mean it that way.
I was referring to the +r /-r not mattering in any practical sense. GQ vs. verbatim could matter very much. I suspect some times GQ is good just that you will never know so its moot.

The Fry's in Austin did not have Verbatim nor any good media Made in Japan last time I shopped. Everything was made in Taiwan, and is probably manufacturered by CMC or other no-name manufacturer. I had Memorex CMC discs go bad on me after one year in storage! They were just sitting in my closet in a binder. Now, the data can't be read on most of them.

I bought fuji made in tiawan. And they didnt burn 1/4th as good as the aml002 made in china I bough on a lark. I did make sure both my sony + and -r media was from japan but they were not any better than the fuji tiawan. So even name brand from japan can be lame mid quality barely passable also. Even verbatims had their bad times as mentioned above. Check the MID. Bet it isn't MCC. I think you can really only take yudens and mitsu mcc seriously.

Fuji has not been using MIJ TYs since last year. Best to buy TYs sold as such from a reputable source, like rima.com, or possibly ******.
