verizon deals suck

when i signed up last summer, i was promised a free pc webcam/digicam... i had the service for well over a year and they never ever ever ever sent the cam. i even called them a buncha times about it....even monthly or so.. .their response? we are back stocked, and you should receive something shortly. when i cancelled my service, the cancellation went through and i got a confirmation# for it. 2 months later, the service was still up and i was still getting billed. i called them back, they said that there must have been a mistake, so i gave them the confirmation #... and then just couldnt answer me. i had them cancel it right then and there... nope, next month it was the same thing. their service is a pain

I have to give a huge thumbs up to Verizon DSL. I used to have a nightmare fly by night, but Verizon has been absilutely perfect for more than a year and a half. Zero downtime.

I use Adelphia Cable and I get downloads (average) around 300-350kbytes/sec and the modem hits a ceiling at about 400-450kbytes/sec. Upload is a lame 128kbit deal. Other than upload, it's awesome - it's been down about... never this year. $39.95 a month.

This makes me wonder if I should cancel my verizon dsl so I can sign up through dell to get a month free and $80. Wonder how long I'd have to wait between cancellation and re-sign-up?

they sent me a letter with a website and a confirmation code, i went there, and got my 25gc. Ofcourse i wanted to purchase something worth more, so i had to add funds (it costs $1 to add funds), and i bought a $75 item for $51 (added $50 and got charged $51 on amex).
Anyone get their rebate yet?

this is HOT! i'm a current subscriber and i called in. they changed my billing to $34.95 a month ( was paying 49.95 and they didn't even bother to change it automatically. i guess they figure i wanted to pay more). what made it even better is that 1.5M d/l package is also 34.95. i was paying 49.95 for the 768k d/l. i can't get in on the first month free though

Even I was worrying about the rebate, and I spoke with their CS. I was told that the checks would be mailed at the end of June.

Can you get the status of your rebate though because Verizon restarted my account accidentally during May and I was wondering if that would make me ineligible for the rebate. Can you give me the number to please?

Dambit. Just went outside with a Verizon are repair guy. The loop is substandard equipment and I'm lucky to get 768 (even though I'm less than 6K away from central).

They have no plans to upgrade or touch the lines unless absolutely necessary because I live on the edge of "the hood" and they're afraid of getting robbed or shot. Geez people, its not that bad. Oh well, at least they gave me a discount on the service (and probably because I didn't rob or shoot the guy.)
