From what I can see, Verizon offers the following:
TXT Messaging (100 messages): $2.99/month
TXT Messaging (250 messages): $4.99/month
TXT Messaging (1000 messages): $9.99/month
TXT Messaging (2500 messages): $19.99/month
I believe that includes unlimited in-network text messages (to any Verizon customer).
These are txt only packages and not the unlimited.
$5 for unlimited between VZW customers only 50 messages outside VZW
$10 for unlimited VZW, 350 outside VZW
$15 for unlimited VZW, 500 outside VZW
Its unlimited pix, text and video if your phone is able to them. The allowance outside VZW is also for pix, text and video.
So, last month I was having a problem sending/receiving text messages with my LG-VX8000 after they removed VCAST (had a 2 month free trial, hardly ever used it so I wanted it removed instead of paying $15/mo.). After they fixed the problem, which took 4 days, they offered me one of the deals mentioned above. I chose the $10 plan. This whole time, I thought I was being covered by that plan. When I got my bill a few days ago, It was over $100 (I'm on the $39.99 America's Choice plan, with an 25% employer discount). When I saw the bill, my eyes were just like this ---> :Q
So I call them up, and ask why I was charged for so many text's, and why my text plan wasn't covering them. They tell me I don't have a text plan. That really gets me upset. After looking into the notes on the account, the CSR sees the troubles I was having with sending/receiving, but doesn't see notes about a plan being added. He offers to add the plan now, puts me on hold for a while, then comes back and says he can't add it for some reason, and gets Data Tech Support on the line. The Data CSR says that Verizon is having trouble adding these plans to all VCAST phones, and it's going to be about a month before their systems are fixed, where they are able to add it. Apperantly, the CSR that originally was supposed to add the plan had this trouble, and instead of letting me know that she couldn't do it, just decided not to add it and leave me uninformed.
So, bottom line, if you have a VCAST capable phone through Verizon, they can't add the above txt plans yet. If you think you have this plan, you better call and verify to be 100% sure. The good news is that they are going to credit my account for all the txt's that I thought were covered this whole time.
