Verizon Trials

Hey, first poster here. I work at verizon dsl and am at work right now. We are currently do trials in california and indiana, expanding qualifications for loop length to 38,000 ft.. Keep in mind that this is only a TRIAL. It is going to work and for the same price! its gonna be hot! speeds initally 128k/768k. ill keep you updated!

Wow, I'm excited , My neighbor is 110 feet down the street have had dsl for over a year but Verizon has told me I'm 790 feet to far away(it has been upto 2000 feet to far in the past)how can I get signed up and when can I????!!!!!! Let us know how and when, Thanks MP3ster.

Interesting, I'm in camby, IN and have Comcast and like it however the upload speed sucks. If Verizon can get me a static IP, fast upload speed, for a reasonable amount of money then I'll switch.

I'm still waiting on my "free upgrade" that I called so many times about. Supposedly, I am to see 386Kbps/1.5Mbps right now, but ever since I called, my bandwidth dropped. So until they straighten out my bandwidth situation (pretty close to dial up right now), I'll be excited about a new "trail". I've received nothing but dis-service from the Verizon Customer Service center ever since I was a customer of about two years ago. But, being where I am, I only have a choice between Verizon, or Adelphia, I chose the lesser of two evils.

Please bring this to Michigan!!! We are suffering up here! Unless you live in the big cities you get nothing but dial ups. I bug SBC about once a month to bring DSL out to me, they always respond with " we are continually expanding our service area and blah, blah, blah....." The empty promises have been going on for years.

Seeing people get excited about 768k down makes me realize how spoiled I am with a regular old cable line! Eventually everyone will have broadband as an option. Especially if wireless starts going in the direction that I've read about...

It is going to work and for the same price!

Why would it NOT be the same price? No one has ever paid by "feet from telco."

definitely, i cave a POCL(plain old cable line?) and get 3MB down and 256 up for $45/month..and i'm un MONTANA! the tech capit..o...l of .....nowhere?? anyway, 256/768 doesn't seem all that great...whats the price/?

Rugby : verizon does suck, i work for them and will tell you first hand they do. However, static ip's can be purchased from verizon, w/ a business account. This is a must, we cannot supply static ip address to residential accounts, Sorry.

heres the basic deal w/ "Upgrades", we can do upgrades w/ speed, however they do have some drawbacks, one of which includes decreased speed. This is a side effect of trying to send more information over a copper line that cannot support it. I see it alot, usually when loop length is <14500 ft. this is around the point when the copper P.O.T.S. (plain old telephone system) becomes to weak to support the signal we try to send. So sometimes packets start to drop, thus decrease in speed.

anyway, if anyone has any more questions about anything, i can provide info for you. Please let me know what you want and give me your phone number, so i can run tests on the account. But please limit the requests, i will not do all, just because lack of time and stuff like that.

Well... if you say that my old line cannot support it, why then do you have that test before upgrading my account, you know, the test to see if my line supports the upgrade? Don't you guys run a line test before you upgrade the customer?
