Verizon Wireless website sucks

I plan to switch to Verizon from ATT and have been looking at plan pricing but the website isn't very helpful.

I want a single phone plan and when I select that they offer 2GB data with no apparent way to select or even see other data options. I routinely exceed 2GB and sometimes reach 4.5GB so a 4GB or 5GB would seem the best option but there does not appear to be a way to select such a plan from there website. The single plan they show, with no other options, is 2GB/month for $60 ($50 with EDGE), plus $15/GB over the 2GB plan.

There has to be a better set of plan options for a single line...

Are you referring to the "single line plan"?

If so, that is a special case and they only started offering that fairly recently. You need a More Everything Plan. They got rid of the standard single line plans quite some time ago.

Yeah, I think the only reason that $60 plan is there is to match Verizon, who rolled it out to everyone over the summer. (Before that it was only available through the loyalty program.)

there isn't

im grandfathered into an unlimited plan that costs me under 70$ a month, I would have left VZW years ago if anyone else had decent coverage where I live

If you are switching to Verizon get ready for lots of things to start sucking, not just the website.

I'm in the same boat. Ideally I would like 4GB of data a month but the only way to get that is with their $160 plan.

Actually there is a better way. Call them up and you can negotiate a plan that is not on the web site. I just did it three months ago. What I really want is not available - like 2 GB data per month that rolls over unused data. I only use my smart phone when travelling. Some times I go 1 or 3 months and use no data at all.I was able to get them to eliminate texting completely, provide me a hotspot, and 1.5GB of data monthly with a new phone.

Well so does Verizon's. I just signed in and the page changed to a full-screen youtube video of their Quantum service that looked to be over a minute long which had no skip button to continue. I had to close the tab completely which was the only Verizon tab I had going. WTF VZ.

Verizon Prepaid is $45 a month with 1 GB of data if you use autopay with a credit card. If you need more data, 3 GB is an extra $20. So $65 a month with 4 GB. The 3 GB lasts 90 days.

My decision to go back to Verizon is based on my heavy travel schedule that sees me on the road 85% of the time so having a network with spotty coverage isn't going to cut it. I've been on Sprint and I'll never go back to that sh*thole. I'm currently with ATT and when I first switched to them about 1.5 years ago they were not bad, but within 6 months the user experience dropped badly and has been in the toilet ever since.

My company provides me an iP5S and we were with ATT for years but recently switched to Verizon. I had to return my old 5S and get a new one. The user experience with that phone is much better than with ATT.

So, I have no love for any of the carriers as they all su*k in my book, but you gotta go with someone and I need coverage in many places so Verizon is the only real choice besides ATT.

I'll repeat one more time...

I can't do the lesser carriers as there coverage is not adequate for me. Sure, T-Mobile or Sprint may be fine in some markets/areas, but when you travel as much as I do I can't tolerate the lesser carriers. I've tried them and they suck.

The fact that Verizon is being aggressive at killing off unlimited users isn't a negative for me and is, in fact, a positive. Att, it appears, has been slower to kill them off and the user experience on att is much worse than Verizon by my observation.

yeah, if you are on the road all the time. Verizon is the best choice by far.

TBH AT&T's site sucks too. Its probably like that for all 4 carriers. There really isn't a simple breakdown of how plans work.

For AT&T I found their rate plan calculator to be the best understanding of how the plans work.

Eighteen months ago when I got the HTC One and switched from Verizon to ATT the ATT website was pretty good and it wasn't hard to figure what it would cost. You'd think this would be a no brainer or that the FCC or FTC would demand the carriers remove what appears to be intentional confusion on plan pricing. But, when it comes to sticking up for individuals the government is no where to be found as they're too busy taking money from industry to pay notice to you or I...
