Going through the top 100 movies of '95, the only other movie I can remember that had to do with a virus was Twelve Monkeys, though that was in no way related to Outbreak. You might also be thinking of Congo, though the tie-in with Africa is pretty thin there.

Going through the top 100 movies of '95, the only other movie I can remember that had to do with a virus was Twelve Monkeys, though that was in no way related to Outbreak. You might also be thinking of Congo, though the tie-in with Africa is pretty thin there.

I have a vague recollection that a script was floating around for a while and two studios wanted it. I seem to recall that the studio that made Outbreak actually lost the bidding war for the script and simply took the idea and made their own script. I seem to recall that the movie that was made from the script did not do all that well. I just cannot remember the other movie's title (not 12 Monkeys or Congo).

Of course, maybe I dreamed all that and we actually live in a universe in a molecule on the fingernail of some huge being...
