What is a perfect socket 939 pciE board? is there a perfect one yet? I want to get one asap, but im afraid of having all kinds of problems nad have to rma a bunch and not ever have a stable system. i am not going to overclock so I dont care about all that stuff. the ones im looking at are the av8-E, a8n sli, or the gigabyte 4xboard? which one is should I choose? I am gonna be mostly gaming, photoshop/dreamweaver, audio editing, linux, xp. also, does VIA and nforce4 even differ when it comes to gaming?

a8n sli, or the gigabyte 4xboard?

What? Why would you choose a 4x board if you care about sli, and visa versa? I think you need to do some more reaserch and hang out at these forums a bit longer and get the thought that "a perfect board" might exist out of your head. A board thats perfect for one person may fsck up with someone else. Study what youre looking for and match it up with a motherboard that contains what youre looking for. If there are a few, look up reviews on them. In the end when all else is equal, choose the one thats looks better.

There is no perfect motherboard out there anywhere. The A8N has some issues yes, and most of them seem to be BIOS related or people putting inadequate PSU's on them. But I'm confident that they will eventually sort the BIOS. If you want to run stock speeds and not overclock very much you will also have less problems with it. But I got mine up and running with very few problems that were the fault of the motherboard. With this Mobo, you really do have to RTFM.

The asus has been out the longest, but that's only been a month. If you're looking for stability the A8N-SLI is probably the first choice, but it's expensive and probably overkill for what you're doing. The Chaintech doesn't sound bad either and has gotten good reviews, and come to it, so has the Gigabyte 4x.

Keep in mind none of the PCIe boards have been out that long yet so it's possible for a few glitches to still be there, though there haven't been any shockers. I'd wait another month or two if stability is the most important part of your equation.

That works both ways, you don`t know how much R&D Asus have done, for all you know it could have the least research and development time,as to best fawless/stability,bottom line there is no number one board.

Also too early to say what will be the best boards in the bunch,we have a lot more NF4 boards on the way.

What are you 8? read what I said. No error free motherboards! If you knew anything about these youd know SLI and ultra are virtually the same except price and SLI function.
