I have a gf4 ti4200 with vivo, dvi out (msi ti4200 vtd8x) it came with driver 41.07....my question is:
1. should i update to the latest nvidia driver 43.XX (don't know which on top of my head...anyone?)??
2. will the unified driver take care of the VIVO stuff also or i have to install them separately after i install the latest driver ?
3. is the unified driver backward compatible ..i.e i saw some drivers say they support geforce fx and so on, do they also support gf 4, gf 3, and gf 2?
4. If i want to update the driver, are these steps correct? (uninstall the current driver in add/remove program -> restart computer -> install new driver -> reboot again, done)...i browsed thru some websites, they claim that nvidia driver will not be uninstalled completely, it will need a software to completely remove it ( like a software call detonator destroyer ??), is that true?
5. i have installed some games on my computer, will updating the vga driver screw with my installed games and corrupt their files ? (a friend of mine updated his vga driver ( geforce 3 card), and some of the games show differently, like character suddenly without glasses in metal gear solid 2 (yes, after rebooting the syst.)....has anyone encoutered this before?)
Thanks for your help.
