Most people have the money, they just choose not to spend it for no reason. Since when did saving money become a bad thing? I hear that so much these days, someone points out that a product is overpriced and these losers come out and accuse them of being poor.

BS. The people that always claim a product is "overpriced" are normally the loser. It's just some stupid cop out when they see a higher price tag. They normally don't even know the difference between the product they're looking at and the higher priced product. They just quickly say, "it's overpriced" to somehow make themselves feel better.

Now if someone says, "they can't justify the extra cost," I can totally respect that. Not everyone is a videophile or puts that much emphasis on PQ. They just want something decent. But don't try and pretend you somehow are slick and got something for nothing, because you didn't. An edge lit LCD is not the same as a full array backlit LCD. Sorry. And no matter how much you claim it is "overpriced'" isn't going to change that fact. Sorry.

Are you serious? Are you purposely being this dense, or do you need me to hold your hand and spell it out for you.

There is a reason Sony's flagship LCD's cost more than the competition, because they cost more to build. Add in the fact that R&D for them isn't cheap, and there you have your addition cost.


If you seriously can't make the distinction between a high end display that has real world numbers to back up it's performance and a Monster cable that has NO scientific data to back up their claims, you're either that dumb or just that dense.


Now if you want to continue this "debate," I'd be glad to oblige in the Audio/Video forum.

When I was talking to my associates the other day about audio, they were raving about the new portable Beats IEMs, I just told them what I use (Ultimate Ears TripleFi 10), but didn't say anything about how shitting and overpriced Beats headphones are, because if I did, I would come off as a snobby asshole.

No, I'm not that dense. I'm trying to make a point to you. Overpriced is a subjective term. Am I saying Sony tv's are awful? No. But I am saying they are overpriced. Just because something is good doesn't mean its exempt from being overpriced. Sony's technology may or may not be superior to Sharp or Samsung, but their prices are typically much higher. A slightly better product doesn't warrant a much higher price. At least, not when there is sufficient competition, thus they are overpriced.



Or, we could look at this another way. Sony isn't selling very well. So either A. they suck or B. they are overpriced. Take your pick.


Again, just so my point is crystal clear. A product being good, or even the best in its category, does not mean it is exempt from being overpriced.

I usually don't care about backwards compatability, but I plan on giving my 360 to my kids so they can do the kinect stuff of it when the new xbox comes out, so it would be nice if it could play my 360 games, since most launch titles aren't that great. I am just ready for the announcements about this and the PS4, so we can see what they are going to be like.

I'll bet you $200 that more working PS3's are actively used right now than 360's. You can see that just by seeing the biggest game being sold right now is selling more copies on PS3 than 360.

I don't usually pay attention to this kind of stuff because I could care less what sells better, but I hadn't realized that the PS3 copies were selling more than the Xbox. Do you have any links to back this up.

backwards compatibility is fine, however the resolution thing makes no sense, unless they are talking about 720p/1080p. 99 .9% of people will have it hooked to a TV and well they really only have 2 choices

I think they're just misunderstanding things as I'm pretty sure the current consoles have the same scaling chip... it's a digital scaler.

As for the backwards compatibility, it will most likely be the same as the XBOX -> XBOX 360 where the 360 was compatible with specific games as they were software emulated.

I personally know people that recently got PS3's strictly for Black Ops 2. I know others who switched from 360 to PS3 and their first purchase was the current CoD. With prices dropped, there's no reason to have a 360 over a PS3 anymore. People are moving over just in time for the next gen, so Microsoft needs to not make ANY mistakes or they will lose this next race a lot faster.

DMC is selling more on PS3 because DMC is a series that built its fan base on the Playstation consoles and didn't appear on an Xbox console until many years later. The sales numbers have nothing to do with which one has more consoles being actively used.

What sort of conclusion would you have drawn if you had looked at the BLOPS2 sales instead, where the 360 version has sold two million more copies than the PS3 version?
