I noticed your aperture is set to 128MB. Try 64MB. Or, since you only have 64MB of RAM, try 32MB.

I've tried all 3. My v7700 is the 32mb one, the 128mb just happened to be the last one I tried & I forgot to change it back before running the Sandra report.

Been trying everything I've read here & on other boards & still no love.

OK guys the trip was cancelled! So last night I installed my new generic 300watt power supply. By the way, when I pulled the old one I got a surprise! The old supply was only rated at 235watt not 250! I wish I could say that the extra wattage solved the problem, but it did not! I'm beginning to think bluezebra is right, hardware issue.

Thanks for all the info, misery loves company! You and I can't be the only ones having this problem!

I have also tried multiple AGP memory setting with no success. (64, 128 & 256)

This week I'm going to take my system back to the shop where I bought the m/b and card and have them install another vid card that supports x4 and try to isolate the problem to either the m/b or the card. I'll keep you posted.

This part of the Sandra report has been bugging me, but I can't find any further explanation of where exactly this is from on my system or if it could have something (or everything) to do with being unable to get 4x and sidebanding going.

Can anyone splain thees to me?

------------------------------------
AGP Capabilities
Version 2.00
Command Queue Length 32
FW Transfers Support Yes
Over 4GB Addressing Support No
Side Band Addressing Support No
Data Transfer Modes Support 1x, 2x

Sorry for the delay guys! But after trying for a couple of weeks to get the local retailer to swap out the card I've given up on that option! I was told by the Mgr. and then the Owner that basically the card was a "special order",(which is true)and that the problem needs to be addressed by the manufacturer. Needless to say after buying a new MB and Vid card from them I was highly pissed! I've sent half a dozen emails to ASUS but we all know how good their tech support is. HaHaHa! I've yet to get a reply from any of them, not even an automated one! I've also been visiting some of the "unofficial" tech support boards that ASUS suggests and this problem is MUCH more wide spread then I realized! At these boards everyone with this problem is being told by everyone else to give up the fight! "AGP x4 is not worth the extra 2fps, if that!" Software/Games in general at this time do not take advantage of the increased speed. And, it may be a year or more before they do. If I had an extra hour I could probably find some feedback to that effect in this very thread. So....... I guess I'll fall in line with everybody else. Thanks to everyone for all your feedback and especially bluezebra 1098!!!

I have a very similar problem. Every time I boot my computer it starts in AGP 1x mode. I have the Annihilator 2 using the latest fasttrack drives. The drivers will let me change my AGP speed once windows is loaded. The default setting is even listed as 4x. I have the latest VIA 4-in-1 and CUV4X bios. Any ideas it's a pain to have to change my AGP speed every time I boot. Furthermore I think the change takes effect till I reboot. So I end up with a fast computer with horrible video performance. Any ideas??
