Via 4 in 1/WinXP Question

I was just wondering if the Via 4 in 1's have to be installed under WinXP if running a Via Chipset. I currently dont have them installed, and my XP is running prime, but I was just wondering if I would get more performace using the 4 in 1's.

BTW - I have the KT133A chipset

I tried to install the 4 in 1. During installation it said I need to uninstall the miniport driver, clidking OK it went into a re-boot and I got a BSOD -- went back to old version during boot-up and things worked fine. Advise is to be careful if you really want to load them, but if things are working, leave well enough alone.

WindowsXP contains the VIA4in1 4.24 drivers by default. DO not install the 4.24 or any previous drivers on WinXP or your very likely to encounter problems. It is not necessary, but you can update the drivers to the 4.25 or later if you wish.

the 4 in 1's gave me a rough go at it.....they screw my ide all up....and i used the newest versions available.....i have no probs with stock xp drivers....
